And in 2024 Time Team are getting ready for their new digs, and the one this june at Sutton Hoo... Mick must be smiling down on all the Patreon fans who got the gang back together, in 2021. TIME TEAM lives on...
My Dad owned Hennard, late 50's to 1963, and ran it as a dairy farm. After the bad winter of '63, he and Mum decided enough was enough and we went to Australia as "Ten-quid tourists". Its amazing to see the old house and the nearby small barn that we used as a garage, before it was demolished and flooded. The Wolf was a difficult river, it nearly flooded us out on a few winters
Phil sounds different. More formal. He was much more country on Time Team. It could be the sound equipment got better or he just relaxed and was himself as he got more comfortable on television.
Both shows are unique and both good for their own time. The advance of imaging tech is critical to saving what is left. Throughout both shows, good field work and good recording is the scientific foundation. Toni Pearson almost sounds like Helen as if one created the educational dialog track taken up by the other. Much respect for all involved.
Beers and cheers To Phil Harding, a man whom we are all glad never stopped searching . " Well I took a walk around the world to ease my troubled mind, I left my body lying somewhere in the sands of time, But I watched the world float to the dark side of the moon, I feel there's nothin I can do,yeah.... I watched the world float to the dark side of the moon, After all I knew it had to be something to do with you, I really dont mind what happens now and then, As long as youll be my friend in the end. I really dont mind what happens now and then, As long as youll be my friend at the end.." Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down
Great man, Mick, interested in the lifestyle of the "ordinary man". We've got plenty of information about the rich lords and ladies in their mansions - that exists a plenty. But I want to understand how most people lived and survived. Thanks Mick
If you are referring to Phil, he is not Viking. They tested his DNA and found that he is pure Celt. He was very pleased to learn that. He did a little happy dance and told Tony to get off his land. I loved it.
Does anyone know the name of the guy narrating the series please? He sounds like ray Brooks the actor, but I'm not sure. Loved this episode, and hopeing to watch more xx
the sad sad younguns not knowing where their food and clithes come from... better they come from the chinese and their slaves. Sad Britain and in the usa they do their best to f k us now... but we have our guns
Wow. We get a modern archaeology bonus too: What is this "videotext" the Time Signs credits refer to? In the dark and distant technological past, the 1980s, videotext was the Next Big Thing, though nobody back then knew what a "killer app" was yet. The first videotext I ever saw, in 1984, was a computer terminal in an airport on which I could view the day's top stories in the local newspaper. Totally cutting edge! Nobody was using it, and it quickly died.
