A small company dedicated to creating SERIOUS soft plastic baits to help anglers catch more fish. Our designs are straight off the top-level professional bass tour, mostly from my head. Each of our baits is unique and tested to make sure they are just right. When you pick up a bag of MISSILE BAITS soft plastics, know those baits are being fished in the world’s biggest bass tournaments when only the best will cut it.
Awesome series John. Something fresh. I've been bass fishing and loving every minute of it for over 50 years. Missile baits are a staple in my BassCat. The DBomb is .... Well .... DBomb. Good luck this upcoming season fishing the Elites and in the business realm as well. Be safe and God Bless. Keep droppin it on'em.
I have found through my 50 years bass fishing that its better to be good with and master a couple of baits that you are confident with than always switching back and forth with a lot of different choices. If you stick to say a senko and crankbait only and learn how to adapt your presentation to conditions, it seems to be more productive. I know a guy that spends hunreads a year on the latest greatest and struggles to make up his mind on which fancy new lure to tie on because he has too many. I have a few. A senko or crankbait, and a senko again if crankbait fails to produce. Works for me.
I've been fishing my Drop-Shot rigs using a Ned-Rig as my Drop-Shot sinker. I've also used a Texas-Rig or a Finesse-Jig to take the place of the traditional Drop-Shot sinker. I'll use the same soft-plastic baits at two different levels of the water. In my mind it's a vertical presentation of the horizontally fished donkey-rig.
I wasn’t throwing shade on how you throw your stop shot. Was just letting you know there’s a name for it. And it’s widely known. Another good tactic is using a Texas rig weight with a drop shot weight, with a glass bead- or no bead, either way they’ll clack and make extra noise the bead just helps assure there’s extra noise like on a C rig. I find this technique works especially well with walleyes, but use a clear bead, if you use a brass bead or red bead, they might go for that instead of the bait. When I’d run out of drop shot weights I’d use a Texas rig, upside down, and double peg the bottom of my line to hold it , in that scenario I also use a bead but on top of the weight , the Texas rig upside down actually gives you a really good return on what your fishing on top of thru your line
Good stuff! I catch plenty on the Drop Shot and love the technique but, I have one concern. Why can't I get bit with a full sized 4' or even a 6" worm? I always start with a 4" worm, usually a Zoom Finesse worm but, have to bite maybe 1/2-1" off just to get bit. I nose hook. I'm thinking larger bass would take a larger worm but, they just don't seem to hit the same worm in 6." Any idea why? Thanks.
I'm so glad that I managed to find a creature bait from you where I live!! I absolutely love the baby destroyer. Works miracles here with the zander and perch!
I live in South Africa and my son and i are keen on buying a tandem kayak for bass fishing. I am 56 years old and my son 28. What is your opinion on this? Should we buy a tandem or rather a smallish motor powered boat? We fish farm dams of farmer friends 90% of the time.
Dang dad!!! I’m going to send my kid to your house and have your son teach him to fish. Then I’m coming over for the same instructions. Wow. Nice job dad !!!!
I am a hobbyist lure maker and have made over 250 wooden lures. I make them to give to friends and family members, and have donated nearly half of them to charities. And since I could never afford these high-end lures on the market, I make and keep a few for myself. I can relate to almost everything Josh has said, to the point of chill bumps. LOL I work with CAD by trade and design lures and templates in CAD. I was even born and raised in Kansas City, on the Missouri side... and have family in Topeka. Very enjoyable show!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! I've been fishing micro finesse baits from Zman now almost a year. I saw this on an ICAST 24 video & now you've told us all. I have the perfect jighead form Tackle Tactics the lightest weight being a 1/32 oz. I love the the action of the DBomb so this version will be deadly. Putting in my order tomorrow when I get home
What's the matter? It's not a Mike Ikonelli video unless you're yelling at us! Must be under the weather or something. Just got me two more to add to the collection. I CRUSH with this jig.
D-bomb was the first creature bait I have ever bought and fished. It is still the best made. I own a pack of every color and cant stop buying them and using them. I love dropping Bombs on them.
I noticed you skipper over talking about the best color Brewgill. Smallmouth river you only need two colors brewgill and firecraw and they will wear you out.
Bryan, thanks for your latest swim jig video for Missile Baits! How do you know when is the best time to use a crawfish or swimbait swim jig trailer? Time of Day? Season of Year? Geography? I watch a lot of Tactical Bassin’ videos and Matt ONLY uses a swimbait trailer. But I’d be interested in your opinion on when I should fish a crawfish trailer. I live in Central Florida, if that matters. Sorry for the long-winded question. God Bless.
