One time I showed this video to my mom, and she asked who that is, so I showed her the picture of Plankton 0:01 I told her he's the guy who does Plankton's voice and when he started using "sentence enhancers" 0:04, my mom told me "don't be watching those things". *My mom speaks Spanish and even though she doesn't speak a lot of English she is able to understand conversations in English FYI.
As soon as I saw Brothership, I needed nothing more from the direct. That's not to say there weren't other interesting announcements, but if Brothership was the only good thing shown off, I would still be satisfied.
Hey, Shaze, did you hear about this one? It's an indie game heavily inspired by Mario & Luigi, and it's called... drumroll, please... Hunter Chronicles: Tara & Vyn ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B4v-JfcNMNE.htmlsi=kywHIUg6PnVbE-LQ
The Mario and Luigi series is what actually got me passionate about video games. I still remember when Partners in Time was announced and being so excited. It was the first time in my childhood that I grasped the concept of a sequel to a game that I loved so much, and it fully cemented my love both for the series and for gaming as a platform.
I agree that BIS is peak, but I love the worlds that are made in these games. I hope we can revisit some of them in brothership, but I won't hold my breath
I really enjoyed paper jam's combat (the in between bits were the problem[and lack of paper luigi]) I especially enjoyed how the new battle mechanics werent badges again and instead you just have Yu-gi-oh cards that can be really overtuned at times.( But I am sad at the loss of a "turn the DS sideways battle")
I enjoyed the CastleVania: Opus of Darkness album. That was an amazing piece of work, Thanks for making such a project for CastleVania Month (October). Please do a Symphonic Metal cover "Dracula's Theme" from Super CastleVania 4 as a request.
@@Shaze64 Which is this October. I'm psyched to hear your version of Dracula's Theme, Do let me know when it's ready to upload. Maybe the cover can start CastleVania Month (October 2024).
I’m super excited for Brothership! I didn’t recognize the artstyle at first, but when the title showed up, I had the biggest smile on my face! While I’ve admittedly only played Bowser’s Inside Story, it’s one of my favorite games of all time. Plus with Fawful’s Minion being one of my favorite RU-vidrs, I do know quite a bit about the rest of the series and the greatness of it. But with that being said, I did download the other games (aside from Paper Jam and the remakes) before the e-shops closed, so with Brothership releasing in November, hopefully it’ll give me the motivation to play through the game before it comes out.
41:12 THINK ABOUT THE BATTLE SYSTEM. What if it stays like that whilst in battle? SOOO much more creativity in that case. I imagine it'll probably be similar to how inside story bowser uses shell and punch interchangeably.
Started out with Bowser’s Inside Story, but quite because I couldn’t get past the carrot mini game. Superstar Saga was the only M&L game I played and beaten.
My rank of the games from worst to best not counting the remakes 5. Paper jam 4. Partners in time 3. Dream team 2. Bowsers inside story 1. Superstar saga
I personally really hate the Superstar Saga remake. There is just so much personality that was removed, with the reused models, and so many unique sprites and animations removed. It really just doesn't work for me in the remake. Superstar Saga deserves another remake for the Switch, one that is more loyal to the original.
As much as I love the Paper Mario games (particularly the earlier one), one of the things that always bummed me out about them was the fact that you couldn't play as Luigi (well, at least until Super Paper Mario and even then, you didn't get to use him until near the end of the game). So having an entire series around Mario and Luigi traveling together and sharing the spotlight together with Luig being just as important as Mario is something I always love. I also really love the brotherly love that's repeatedly demonstrated with the bros. throughout the series. From the bros. panicking when one of them is KO'd by an enemy and the other bro jumping over to put him on his back and keep him from further getting harmed even though this would make dodging harder. And also, how they hug each other and are always happy to be reunited with each other and see that the other's safe. These games do a great job of showing just how much Mario and Luigi mean to each other. Especially Dream Team. The Mario & Luigi series means a lot to me as well and I hold it in just as much regard as Paper Mario if not slightly more so.
Yeah this series does a fantastic job of showing how much Mario and Luigi care for each other. Very excited to see more of that dynamic in Brothership!
Sorry to be the 'um ACKSHUALLY' guy, but Dream Team only uses polygons for the environment, the characters are all sprites (this also applies to all future 3DS entries). When it comes to Dream Team, I feel like its lenght and pacing are what hurt it the most. It feels like a 35 hour game streched into a 50 hours one. I pretty much agree with all your Paper Jam points. I do wanna add that I personally believe it's the most playable with the most refined battle system. Edit. If you're planning on replying Partners in Time, play the European version. It's better balanced and has more polish overall.
16:28 Fan-favourite? I've seen plenty of people despising her, because of how overused she was and how badly she treats Luigi. Sure, he's the punching bag of the series, but Starlow is his major aggressor
I've seen both people liking and disliking her. I agree she's way too harsh on Luigi, but she has some positive qualities as well. It all comes down to preference, but I've seen plenty of people who like Starlow
The Really annoying thing about dream team is that Antasma is such a cool villain yet for some reason they made Bowser the main villain of the game. Antasma is so damn cool but the game constantly feels like it’s undermining him by having Bowser be the bigger threat even though he absolutely should not be. Honestly I don’t even think Bowser should’ve been in dream team at all or at least not have nearly as big of a role as he has. Also I hear the scene where Bowser betrays antasma get a lot of praise, but I absolutely hate that scene. Villains betraying each other is such a cliché. Like I get there villains and their evil and stuff but it’s really old and annoying to me. Also Bowser betraying antasma adds literally nothing to the story. You could cut it out and nothing would change. It’s just so stupid and lame
The fact that Nintendo had so much faith in Brothership that it kicked off the Direct. No joke, seeing Mario & Luigi be welcomed back with open arms is genuinely moving.
You ain’t wrong about Luigis writing being PEAK in dream team! Mario is literally super lucky to have a brother like Luigi! This is why I love Mario and Luigi the most out of all the Mario RPGS, the brotherly love and connection you see. You don’t get that with Mario RPG or paper Mario, but this series shows that each of the brothers would do anything for each other. The super fun gameplay and INCREDIBLE OSTS just add on to that. Dream Team was the first Mario and Luigi game I played and beat(the others I watched long plays of) and I’ll tell you I LOOOOOVED that game! That’s what really kickstarted my love for this series(plus this and Luigi’s mansion as a series really kickstarted my love and appreciation for Luigi as a character)
@@Shaze64I see. By the way, I wish you’d included a description for this video! I WANT to watch it, but being 20 1/2 years old and autistic, I lack much of an attention span. Without knowing what’s to come, I might not ever finish this video at all! Sorry, dude.
Loved this series so much as a kid. So glad that I'm able to share the hype with others even after growing up. One thing I just noticed which I find funny, for the Superstar Saga remake they made the 'and' symbol in the title the one from original bowsters inside story and the remake for bowsers inside story the one from the original superstar saga. The & symbols swapped!
Seeing someone talk so positively about this series is amazing, Mario and Luigi is a nostalgic franchise to me as well and have followed it since Partners in Time and enjoyed every single one(with Bowser’s Inside Story being my favorite RPG of all time) and when Brothership was announced, I actually screamed, I haven’t gotten this joyfully hyped for a game since Kirby and the Forgotten Land and can’t wait to get the game on November, if you got it I the end, thank you took me a while to write it all, hope your channel grows at some point Question: If you were to recommend any Mario and Luigi game to someone who hasn’t played any of them, which one would it be?(My sister-in-law has never played any and I want her to get into the series, but I’m not sure which game she should play first(I’m torn between lending her my copy of either the Superstar Saga remake or Bowser’s Inside Story))
