Nice to know it's getting connected from Bombhole to my channel. Thanks for following and hope you enjoy the videos coming out over the next few months
Ya there are a few duplicates but each board was either designed by me or has something special about it. Maybe I'll do a little board chat about them in a video this fall/ winter.
Hi Mark, is this your top pick for powder? I’m intermediate (coach assessed) 30-40 day a year rider. I have a decent quiver. My Daily is the Mercury or Yes Greats dependent on purpose. What would you recommend as a specific choice? I’m looking at this board, the fish, or the niseko pleasures. I’m heading to Japan in 2026 and want a board that will make it epic. Normally I’m in Colorado or Utah. Thanks. Love the channel!
Hey Will, this board is very much a "quiver" board. It's incredibly fun for powder and mid speed boarding but wouldn't be a daily driver that you would spend a lot of resort days on. Fish (believe it or not) would be a great option if you plan to spend a lot of resort days on top of the powder days. I will reaffirm that the Deep Daze is such an insanely wicked feeling for deep powder though so I love it for those specific days.
@@marksollors Thank you so much. loved your Bombhole Interview. I haven't been in the sport long, but I've watched your clips, and they rock, but after listening to your thought process, I am a fan. You're a legend.
I’ve watched this clip more than Ive watched one world. Raw and authentic footage. Fun , out on the mountain with friends. what snowboarding is about .
i had a big bit of ptex dragging under my board last month, so if not already in the emergency set, a small climbing knife (40gr) could be super useful. i also carry a 120 cm climbing sewn sling and an ultralight climbing carabiner (77g for theses two, 20KN) that can be used for many things, emergency harness, towing skidoo, tourniquet, rope or lace replacement. A Glow stick maybe? but your head lamp should have the emergency blinking already. Awesome vid btw, i never thought about the mouth gard!
Great review thx a lot, hope to see more reviews from you. I just ordered a fish 24 and a deep daze 23 as i do not see any deep daze 2025 online, is it dicontinued?
Great video thanks! I would love to know more about how you pick a spot - I've heard it's best to look for a landing first. How steep are you looking for? Would you go in and probe the landing, then wait until it snows again before you hit it, or not worry about probing and just go for it? How do you decide on whether to build a kicky jump or a more mellow jump? Where I live it is super dry snow, so even just forming a jump is super hard as the snow is more like dry sand than wet sand, any tips for how to build booters in super dry snow? And do you let the jump 'set' after building it, or do you start hitting it right away?
Hi Mark ! I would really like to order a 165 from Burton, it’s on sale right now ! I need your help to find out the width of the board under the front and the rear foot at reference stance. I have an 11.5 size boot and I love to carve, putting my board high on edge (28 years of snowboarding freeride, free carve and recreational racing) . I thank you in advance to take the time to answer . Cheers !
Hi Mark ! Can you tell me the width under foot for the front and rear feet at reference stance on the 165 Grill Master. I wear an 11.5 and I carve pretty hard …..so I need a pretty wide board not boot out ! Thank you and congratulations for the channel ….love it !
I was fortunate enough to participate A Day For Jake at Mt Bachelor, what a great way to honor one of our pioneers of the sport. But how can we pass on the knowledge. I rode with many youngsters on the lift that day and a good majority didn’t know about Jake 😢.
