Jcw mini but in the 'grand pre' limited lightweight track focused version. Limited run for each generation of mini being the most hardcore of the lineup. Usually less weight, no backseats, strut running through the middle of the car where the back seats were, lowered, lighter suspension bits there and there slightly more power and lots of adjustability that's available to tune throughout the car as everything is adjustable for track days etc
Its really amazing how Alpina transformed the dull and BORING stock E39 540i into something spectacular and so nice as an Alpina B10 V8 I have the 1997 e39 535i non vanos M62 B35 and it NEVER sounds like this !! :( ....ahh that thundery V8 ROAR !!!!!!! :)
This sound is not accurate. Being recorded from not proper distance or exhaust is custom. I have same car and Boysen exhaust is a way more discreet. Maybe it also depends on the mileage. My car has little bit more than 100kkm, how about yours?
Exhaust is OEM, the mic was close and pointed with noise cancellation, I was aiming for a more sensible sound, but if you put your ears closer to the exhaust area the sound typically that what you hear on this video.
