Yeah those hex wideners are torture too axles regardless of size of the rc. Or when people use wheel spacers on real cars to push the wheel outwards an insane amount this will also cause issues. Also those poor springs are super tightened down by the looks of it, might want to order some new springs besides some better fitting wheels all around that fit without hex wideners, those kyosho nitro tracker wheels might work without a hex widener actually, problem will be finding those wheels ofc as tires are basically standard monster truck size really. Otherwise if you know someone with a Traxxas stampede 2wd or can visit a shop to test mount some wheels & tires from one that they have on display. The front wheels & tires should be slightly more pushed out which might clear the suspension arms on the Hobao all around getting 2 pairs of front wheels & tires put on, like the ones on the bigfoot / monster jam versions of the stampede should look alright while also being really common.
@@Mini-z1994 yeah the hex wideners concerned me too, thanks for the advice on potential wheel choice I have been looking for ones that would eradicate the need for the long hex. I have another car that came with the same dampers with the springs set in the same orientation, I tried raising the collar on the others but it would appear that is how they are supposed to be so I left these the same. I have others in the parts bin that will suit Thanks for the feedback 👍👍
The hyper needs a good tune, bottom end mostly, the Ansmann engine isn't great, its a bit underpowered but ok for bashing. Pull start issues can usually be sorted in the field, the springs can be fun though.
The tyres are soft on the Kyosho’s and have to be glued. They are great fun, but it’s an old funky front suspension design that will grip roll like you wouldn’t believe 😅
They are a good engine for the price!far better design than other cheap motors like sts or go! as just simple things like the larger head bolts even crank and rod strength are sound/consistent and very close to an O.S in design, just not quality the engine itself is good but the pull starts are reliably unreliable! Also If not running in competition I’d recommend the .28 for bashing but run a bigger pinion for the added torque I use 16-19t when running the .28 and it eats high end .21s on track! just not for fuel consumption endurance!
If you have a filler gauge the carb gap closed should be 2mm the low speed needel 3 turn from closed and the hi41/2 from closed. The high speed the top screw the low is on the side. The gap adjustment is centered on carb. This should ruffly get you running 💯👍✌️
Sorry maybe you sent a comment to me keeping the glow starter on the engine for 10/15 sec is fine when first starting it may be a little rich but you lean it out for running... he just had the main idle to high !!
First of all you got to have the glow starter on the engine until it starts then you remove i😢t dial 3 turns out to start it can you close it to bring up the idle.. close to lean it.. versus rich. 😂
You can leave it on for a few seconds or so it won't hurt anything, usually on first start up for the day I'll leave mine on for 10 to 15 sec while I'm given it a couple blips of the throttle to clear up the engine
@@MayhemandMirthRC it's all good man , asking questions is how you learn . Never be afraid to ask , nitro is a bit different from electric but it's awesome once you learn the basics it gets much easier
Something they helps fist run is to pre heat it. I use to not care. But ever since I have started doing it and breaking it in with head wrapped up, they run in better. But at the very least, they are less tight when hot and easier to pull.
Yah I am pretty sure I am going to get scammed also. Still waiting on my package but since I bought lots of people flagged the store as a scam and the store is no longer in service.
Could be worth seeing if any kyosho models around the time this released like the optima re-release cvd shafts would work maybe in this, otherwise put some a bit of dishwashing sponge in one side of the drivecups that pushes the driveshafts towards the diff cups of the truck, i think originally it had small springs in there too help push it outwards towards the diff cups & with those missing you get this issue of them falling out.
