Sweet William is the name of our beautiful yet slightly run down villa in Greece.
Welcome to our channel, thanks for coming!
This series will follow us, a British couple with 5 kids (and a dog!) on our journey of buying and renovating a small house in Zakynthos, Greece, doing all of the work ourselves on a small budget.
We are aiming to not only cover the renovation but also try to showcase what we find to be so special about the island, visiting beautiful landmarks, sleepy villages and of course, traditional tavernas! As well as covering more of the day to day life, such as running a house abroad, paying bills and trying to fit in with local life.
We hope to bring something for everybody and really appreciate you choosing to watch. Please feel free to comment with any thoughts, ideas or suggestions, they are most welcome.
Thanks again, Chris and Jo

Hi Chris and Jo just subscribed really interested in seeing the progress over the next few videos . We are following in your footsteps and looking for a hone in September in Evia . Would welcome any tips . Keep the videos coming .
Hi Lisa, thank you so much for following and for your comment. We’re trying to do something a little different with the soundtracks and appreciate hearing your thoughts 😀
Can’t believe how similar our story is to yours! It’s great watching your videos and huge respect to you both, keep up the amazing work you are doing. Just a word of caution (sorry I don’t want to ruin the mood) but your plaster and concrete issues are less likely to be rising damp and more likely the effects of humidity which effects all the walls and high up too. Knocking on the wall will tell you where the problem areas are. Our house looked like it just needed spot re plastering and painting. However, the cement had separated within the wall and the reed bars were rusty inside. So please check this out. Looking forward to your next video ❤
Thank you for watching! 😀 Where is your place? Appreciate the info about your wall. We’ll be keeping a close eye on our one over the seasons to see how it changes 👍
@@SavingSweetWilliam my hubby has a Chanel for our house but it’s only videos of our time there and journeys round Rhodes- no narration. We were thinking of creating content of our journey but not done anything yet. Just enjoying your content ❤️❤️

How awesome! Hopefully, you can make a video where you go through the financials, including how much you paid for the house, lawyers, notary, etc. Very few RU-vidrs address that. I think everyone would be interested in that.
Hi, thank you for watching and for making this suggestion. We were considering doing something along these lines so it’s good to know that it may be of interest to others!
i've never had mint in tzaziki, but it sounds interesting. i use fresh chopped dill instead. you don't need to use "Greek Yougurt" so much as one with a high milk fat %. i use 10% so that i don't need to drain in a cheese cloth. My daughters use tzaziki on everything except on their chips (ketchup😢). Next time i will try the mint❤
Hi! Thank you for watching 😀 This video has a bit of a tour of the garden towards the end ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5hsJ3IQDRmo.htmlsi=fliDCED33hqem0dx And in this one, we go around looking at the trees on the land ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kZxgJmM9MFs.htmlsi=z39Tj7TShnuOvvqP We have olive trees, fig, plum, lemon and orange trees currently and will hopefully be adding more!
Thank you so much! Oh really, we wanted to find a really authentic Greek blue and there much much deliberation between us with shades and a colour wheel 🤣
Beautiful home! Can't wait to keep watching and see what you do to make it your own! What fun little treasures they left for you! So happy I found your channel! Good luck and best wishes!
Hi, thank you so much for following our journey, we love having you with us!It’s been such an adventure unpacking the Villa and making it feel loved again. Thank you for messaging and letting us know you are watching and enjoying it.
Hello!😊I can’t remember where we stayed or beaches ( my husband is checking our files) but my daughters were excited about the turtles and their nests…..and I’m an Essex girl by way of Dagenham! Since you are “Greek” now😜you get to enjoy 2 Easters, just like me.
I can’t believe I missed this message, I’m so sorry! It’s a small world, I am originally from Collier Row and Chris from East London, so we know Dagenham well! The turtles on the Island is quite magical, I can imagine your daughters would have loved it. I’m hoping we will see a turtle out in the sea one day or when they hatch and head back to the water. I love that we are now Greek 🥰 Thank you for watching us, I hope you liked Chris’ Easter biscuits short, I’ve eaten far too many of them, they are so good! 😊 Jo
Good Morning from Canada 🇨🇦 We were visiting my husband’s family on the Peloponnese about 10years ago. My cousin and her husband were on holiday in Zakinthos so we joined them. The people were so friendly, the beaches beautiful and the food is very unique. It is a blend of Italian and Greek food. We found that very interesting! My family is from England so we enjoy your journey of navigating Greece, and we are jealous of your short commute ❤️
Good afternoon to Canada 🇨🇦, it’s so great to have you with us! Thank you. That is a beautiful memory and you are right the people in Zante in our experience are some of the nicest, kindest and most virtuous we have ever met. We are slowly visiting different beaches but mostly we get caught up working on the villa. Do you have a favourite to recommend? We will go and explore it and feature it in our videos. I’m smitten with the Greek diet, I love salads and grilled meats, I could eat like this all the time, we both love the cheese 😝 I love that you have a connection to England, we are lucky to be able to get there as often as we do and we talk about the day we might get to buy a one way ticket 🙏🏻 It’s so great to hear from you, we really appreciate you following our journey. Jo & Chris 💙
Wow we’ve reached Canada!! Hi Barbara, thanks so much for getting in touch, we are thrilled to hear from you and that you are following our journey. When did you visit Zante? Isn’t it the most beautiful place? 💙
