Brand new truck, have identical truck but 1988 and white. My 1974 El Camino daily drive broke down, had to buy a new one. To be honest, love my 1500 stepside, but I love my Elco way way more.
Nice, I had the same sled. We used to grass drag and my best friend Dean “Dino” had an un defeated Indy 650 that we had weighed and torn apart every weekend lol because they thought we were cheating. He was 135 lbs soaking wet and had a super fast reaction time. That sled was stock with “Hot To Go “ triple pipes. 103 in 660 feet. Anyway at the end of the 95 grass season we were in Torrington Connecticut and I saw the 95 stock VMaxx 4 800 kicking the shit out of every one in its class by 5-6-7 sleds at least. I told Dean that’s the one. I got the guys info and a few weeks later my pops and I drove from Marlboro Ny to Syracuse 3 hrs, did a kitchen install, then headed to Maine in our brand new F150. We pulled over on side of highway slept a few hours woke up and went to the dudes house. When we got there he was riding it around his yard. It was smoking like mad. He said he hooked the injectors back up because he was using mixed gas for racing. The machine was blue printed as well. Every wheel underneath was perfect and so on. So I get it home and excited I start it and it wasn’t like my other Yamahas including my father 78 SRX where you’d just pull it a few inches in bam it was on. Nooo it was bitch. So I called him and he said it was the right oil blah blah and for me to get it out and run it to clean it out. Then…. My fiancé, Dean and his, our other bf couple and 30 others went upstate to old Forge for New Year weekend. We go out the first morning and it wouldn’t start. Dean was in window shaking his head saying “ This poor bastard” Then finally it does and we go trailing to the lake of course. I’m all pumped and…. 72 mph wide open getting laughed at and passed by 500s… wtf? So I call local dealer, my girl fuming because all I can think about is why it’s such a dog, she actually threw her engagement ring at me because I was salty and didn’t even want to go party, I sucked it up and got shitfaced to numb my pain. Next morning Dealer said bring it and it’ll be 2 weeks to get looking at it! So I sucked it up went home and called the guy again. I said do me a favor and tell me the oil brand you put in my injector. He was kinda pisdy with me and said “it’s the right shit it’s Yamalube R 2 cycle racing oil for mix.” It wasn’t injection oil! Sooo I drained it, called my father who was making fun of me because I blew $9000 on another dog after my Exciter debacle. Yea that’s another story. I put the new oil in and my old man’s face lit up when I just barely pulled it and it started with the most beautiful brappp ever. Then I went up to my cousins shop that weekend and got her ready for Sunday. I jetted it a little leaner and replaced some missing picks. Sunday! We head to our local abandoned in the airport in the back of town surrounding by apple orchards and there were already guys leaving with their tail between their legs because Dino was smoking them. One guy with his Thundercat turned around to race me and saw me drive around a Ski Doo Mach that jumped the light and pull him by 20 sleds literally. I was so excited that I went about 500 feet further that the finishe because it was still pulling. Sooo then lol it was me against my best friend who I pitted for helped and well he was my bf I was his best man so yea. We line up and boom I get the light and he stopped lol and said I jumped but I didn’t… then he gets the light, I’m right on hi ankles then he’s a foot in front and I’m still pulling and we just about tie but he got me. So what do we do, we give a hug he gets on my machine me on his I got the light he passed me and he got me by 7 sleds! I’m 220 he’s 135. Point to my story…. Go on a diet if you want to go faster. The vmaxx 4 was the most beautiful design of any snowmobile to this day, only second to the 78 Yamaha SSR 440….
Hi! On a road like you're on at minute 15:00, when you shift into the left lane, is it proper to stay in the right side of the lane as dominant position? I'm planning on going for my test soon and I was under the impression that it's best to be in the left portion of the lane pretty much all the time (which in this case, puts you closer to the median). Appreciate any tips and wisdom :)
Great question, anytime you're switching lanes for your drivers test, make sure to switch to the dominant position prior to changing. For the test that's what they want you to do, but after you pass I typically stay in only one position. Goodluck! :)
I love it! my aunt had an 89 Tony lama edition white and gold with a chrome bed bar it was my dream truck she got rid of it during her divorce when I was younger and I’ve been trying to find it ever since
I feel pretty confident tht i will pass the test…… should i take riding lessons?? Practice ?? I feel riding schools charge way too much to teach basic stuff
I just finished an MSF motorcycle course in Calgary and I can tell you it is worth spending the money. Unless you grew up on a dirt bike and already have motorcycle experience, take the course, there are a few riding concepts they instill into you that will make you a far better rider. Plus you may get cheaper insurance which would eventually pay off the course you took.
@@PURI218it can affect. My insurance company had a list of bikes, which require you to have 3 years of motorcycle experience to make insurance. But if you have completed course, they can insure it right away
The test starts once the examiner is behind you and you're basically out of the parking lot. There's not pre-checks or anything! Hope that helps. Goodluck!
@DECKONR I took the test on Thursday and I passed! Your video helped big time! You really gotta shoulder check constantly! Haha. Thanks for the great video!
No reverse makes it tricky, but we drag them backwards off the trailer. If you have a (Kimpex jack roller) for moving sleds it makes it easy going down the trailer ramps if you don't have reverse.
I got a srx 700and 2 Sx vmax 700 the srx is a rocket the fastest 700 ever made i smoke new sled all the time on it but I love them old Yamaha triples they sound awesome specially with a mbrp can
Amazing machines! Love yamaha, especially the sleds. From the old twins, and triple 2 strokes, to the 4 strokes. They've always been awesome fuckin machines. Last forever and never let us down. Wish they would continue to make em.
