We are a group of women who turned our passion into a non-profit business with a vision to expose, educate and inspire others into a hunting and fishing lifestyle. We are building a community where we learn and grow together. We "hunt" for the best fishing hole. We "hunt" for the freshest eggs. We "hunt" for the best organic meat. We "hunt" for the best outdoor adventure. Sometimes you just have to say "What The Hell" and try something new. We will only ever be as good as we are today if we do not challenge ourselves to try something new. Technology is moving so fast our kids are missing out on some of the most natural basic things. Soon they will not even know where maple syrup comes from and it's as simple as tapping a tree.

Use HVAC mastic to seal the foam.

I can't believe you left the top of your homemade cooler like that. Fill the top with insulation. You missed 2 more days. Dumbass

You can use closed cell foam and not have to seal it with caulk. There was no statistical difference between one and two ice cubes. I call them equal.

For anybody wondering why would this canner has flip valve instead of "jiggler" is because ...this man does not have a pressure cooker in his possession, he has an " autoclave", designed for sterilization, not canning, but of course, you can use it for canning, you just CANNOT walk away from it while you are using it because you have to not only make sure the pressure does not rise, BUT more importantly, you don't allow the pressure to DROP below what the recipe declares...if you EVER lose pressure below what the recipe says, you HAVE to start over. A simple upgrade to remove the spring relief valve and replace it with a canner valve is 40 combined..that is a new vent tube and weighted jiggler.

3M 5200 I wouldn't be overly confident that any of that s*** would work. Besides, if you're already combined $800 clothes right? She really expanded about 200 on that and probably gave the other 600 to her boyfriend. Because you're a dumb a**, I'm a blinder.

Thanks, my sis and I are canning 50 pounds of carrots with potatoes. We had a hard time getting lid even to screw down. What's the normal time for canner to start steaming? It's been 40 min no steam All American 921. Today 4/6/24 great day in Iowa

Close enough. I think you would have done even better if you had brought the insulation to the top of the container and insulated the container lid.

not true, almost everyone says that insulating the lid removes the air pocket and it's not good.

Hey👋! Just ran across your video...just a comment of thanks.. Cause out of all the "expert" youtubers speaking on vintage pressure canners...you're the only one I've run across that actually canned in one on video...great help. I purchased three used pressure canners.. i plan on offering food Preservation classes in the inner city to after school programs and home childcare providers. This is a lost skill for inner city residents... I took a course at Perdue university extension service so I'm a master food preserver. But anyhow thanks for actually using a vintage canner😊

Bears don’t like experiments or projects for hobbies. If you are caught face to face with a bear during these activities do NOT make eye contact or smile! And do NOT reveal any enjoyment is being or will be had!!!

I got one just like it for 5 dollars, used it today canning green beans. I've used it for squash and beans this summer. I like not having the jiggle nor the seals. I tested it at high pressure for the over pressure vent every thing worked, before I used it. Had to do that outside just in case.

If you insulated the top more (say a piece of foam board in between the inner cooler top and the lid) it would have done better.

Was the lid on the cooler you used in your build insulated? If it wasn't putting some foam in there might have made it outlast the Yeti.

With car space at a premium, the yeti makes more sense. Also, just like with building your own computer, you are the Warren, repair, and service tech. Not every is willing to invest thier time and energy building cooler. That said, this build is pretty cool.

Vaseline, why not Olive oil on the beveled edges/seal? Good find good price. I bought a 921 for $250 and is like brand new. Oh and your Tshirt , Sarah Conners, excellent.

I have a really old one from my grandmother. It’s an all American no 7. I tried it today and with the petcock closed it was still releasing a little steam, is that normal? Also making sounds from sides. I got scared and turned off the burner. Anybody else have this happen?

I like your cast iron hanging above your stove ! I have one just like this, the steam relief valve works just fine. You do not have to replace it with a petcock weighted one. I like this type better myself. I think the gauges also last a very long time. You can buy replacement parts if you need from All-American web page and if you ever need you can send them to top or the bottom for refurbishing. You should always use a grate or some sort of rack in the bottom to keep your jars from resting right on the bottom of the canner, as if your jars rest directly on the bottom of the canner they can break. Also when you tighten the lid you should tighten them in opposite sides, like 2 o'clock and 7 o'clock, 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock, like that to get an even tightening on the lid. A little white vinegar in your canner before your process your jars will help keep your jars from getting cloudy with mineral deposits.

Question, do I need to clean the vent with a pipe cleaner?!
@kfl611
@kfl611 2 месяца назад
@@deborahwhite4158 Before each use they suggest you should be able to see through the vent pipe. If it gets clogged your pressure canner may build up too much pressure or not be able to release it, if it is needed, quickly enough. It is a safety feature, to have it free of any debris.
