One of my very favorite songs by Van Morrison. I just finished watching Joe Cocker do a cover of this song, and let me say, Jay, you have an incredible voice and doing this song on an acoustic guitar, with no other instruments or back up singers, you have given me a new best cover to an incredible song by Van Morrison. I think you even did a better job than Joe Cocker, and that's no small feat. Do you have recordings of your music? Would be very interested.
Wasn't sure what to expect when this came up in my search. I was looking for a cover of "Into the Mystic" where you could hear more of the guitar part. Wow...I absolutely love your voice! Blown away.
I know this is an old upload but by chance do you have the chords you were using and ok to share? It looks like you’re doing C and a variation of G7 maybe?
I know this is a super slow response. I will look and see if I can find the chart I did for it. I can say that I am tuned down, so playing a C will not sound the same.
Van morrison was one of my dads favourite artists, he sadly passed away when I was only 18 months old I'm now 29 with my 15 month old daughter and came across this cover and my god you really brought me to tears, that was truly stunning. I'm absolutely sobbing. That was an incredible cover.
