Hi! I’m Sharon, otherwise known as ShaRose49 - a comics and animation fangirl and creator of the webcomics Sunstrike and Bluemist, and The Angel Professor. I’ll share my thoughts on comics, storytelling and more as I work on my webcomics and Illustrations :3
When I'm writing dialogue for a book or a script, I'm trying to get into the character's heads in order to understand them, and to make relationships mean something. For example, I tried doing this while I was writing the script for my future stage musical adaptation of "Vivo" *(a movie you made a video about 3 years ago and gave a positive review to, and a movie I'm too obsessed with because of how well the story, the songs, the protagonist's arc, and the emotional core was handled)* because I wanted to add more depth to the characters, and to make the emotional core even more impactful through the dialogue and even through the lyrics to the new songs. The 'Vivo' musical is not official yet and it probably won't be on Broadway until a decade passes, and sometimes I rewrite a bit of the script to make it better and to make you sympathize with the major and minor characters during the story, because that's what a good writer does. They take their time on a project to make it WORK, even if it takes years. It took me 1 month and 5 days to finish the entire script, and it took me 3 years to rewrite it.
That’s another good point about dialogue! Either we write from our own experiences, or we really have to get inside the character’s head and imagine how they feel. As much as I criticized Helluva Boss, I think in some scenes like the scene where Stolas and Blitz had a falling out in the latest episode, the feelings were communicated through the dialogue excellently. Good luck with your musical! That crazy that you still remember that Vivo video 😂❤️
@@sharosecomics7793Yes, I still do. It's probably my favorite video you've done because it's one of the only analysis videos I've found about the movie, and I've watched it a billion times because of how happy I was that someone actually understood the movie and analyzed it THIS WELL.
2:18 *GASP* Have you criticized M&Ms? HOW DARE YOU? Hehehe, I am joking, the fandom loves them but everyone agrees that Moxie and Millie are VERY underdeveloped, specially Millie. It's a good review, the only thing I disagree about is that there are excesive sexual jokes, the series sometimes has tone problems but this type of humor it's inherent to the series. One of the creators is Brandon Rogers, I recomend watch one of his series to understand from where the comedy comes from
Thank you! Yeah I felt they were underdeveloped too heheh. The sex stuff is really more of a personal thing mostly, I can understand if it’s meant to be taken differently than I do
Love this show. It’s far from perfect, but it brings such a unique charm and it’s clearly a labor of love. Vivzie worked so hard to get this far and she deserves all the accolades. Also EVERYONE hates the camping episode lol
Aww reading all these comments,My heart melted..in a sad way.... Alejandro cried for BILLY...So sad... Billy wouldn't want anyone else play him Dan he not only cuz their voices r similar...but bcuz he still and really appreciate him..And misses him greatly cuz dey we're good friends and he would understand d pain bcuz hearing billy voice in his reminded him of his deceased friend ..❤❤❤❤❤ RIP IN PIECE BILLY...MAY UR SOUL REST PEACEFULLY KNOWING DAT ADE GOT UR BACK 🥲🥲🥲❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 And ADE.. MAY UR LIGHT SHINE BRIGHTLY AND BRIGHTER LIKE BILLY WOULD HAVE HOPED ❤❤❤
I really like your analysis! One thing that I find fascinating about his character is that he seems resistant to getting close to the group, and tries to act alone. Yet all of his growth happens when he is in a team (a trait he had in the past with his old companions as well). It's only when he sees how his behaviors affect MK or when he has people who are willing to call him out that he seems to recognize his mistakes and begin to learn from them. And then he over corrects and tries to fight LBD on his own. Again he defaults to acting alone. Anyway, thanks for letting me ramble. I have no one in real life to talk about this with, so I probably went overboard. I really really look forward to your next video!!
Please, ramble away!! This character really fascinates me too, and part of the reason I have this RU-vid channel is to talk about this stuff with others! Thank you 🩷
It's rare that a replacement like this is done so well. Billy was brilliant, and Alejandro is already living up to that level. It's so good that, honestly, I don't know if I'd have noticed had I not already known.
Wow i really liked your analysis especially the take you take to Martin and Junjie, for me Martin always seemed more like a "goof mc" but there was more as you explained and for Junjie...poor guy he lost everything his freedom, his friends, his caverns, his self, his honour but thanks to the shane gang he was able to recover and take back what he once belonged to him, excellent video 💯💯
Hey thanks so much! I love Martin Mystery and Slugterra so much, and Junjie was the best because he had a complete character arc! I think if the show went longer Eli would have finished his arc too, but it’s a bit up in the air what with his parental issues and all
@sharosecomics7793 To be fair, Pomni seeing everyone at Kufmo's funeral having their eulogies, really gave her peace of mind, that they will have her back.
@@HappyGoof4 yeah, I liked that it felt like an inverse of the ending of the first episode, even the theme music was the same only softer and less menacing
I just watched this episode a bit ago, and I loved it from start to finish. One of my favorite moments in the series up until this point was in episode 2 with the scene of Wade fantasizing about how he'd save Knuckles from the spies, so having an entire episode with basically that same kind of gag automatically made this one of my favorite episodes of the bunch. Overall, it was incredibly bizarre and probably not what anybody expected in a Knuckles TV show, but I loved the way they reveled in the goofiness of this episode's concept.
So glad you're a fan of the masterpiece that's episode 4. It's pretty wild on its surface but I genuinely love the way it's teaching Wade the backstory for Knuckles and the lesson for being a warrior at the same time. In such creative fashion.
Appreciate you highlighting some good parts to this series when everyone's so fixated on its shortcomings. Probably more of a 'Wade & Knuckles' show than just 'Knuckles', but besides the unintended mislead, that's all fine in my books. Knuckles giving Wade a straight faced 3 on the 1-warrior scale took me oooout haha. But it's fine because you can tell beneath that he's starting to value Wade's friendship.
Thank you! Yeah I find it sad that people are so angry about this show, even though it’s okay if they don’t like it. The reaction seems pretty ridiculous though.
It was a trip!! 😂 No it’s not! I noticed it did that with a couple of them. At first I didn’t know why, but now I think it might be because my audio track goes longer than my video feed and I didn’t notice/trim it. I’ll try to keep this from happening again!
@sharosecomics7793 Good to know! I swear to high heaven that since Wade was looking for guidance about his situation, that entire fever dream was one long "Do you know da wae" reference.
To me, Alejandro really does sounds like macaque, which is the whole point. When the season came out I didn't even realize the voice actor was different, but I do feel like Alejandros voice acting makes macaque sound a bit more somber, which I don't mind
Thanks!! I’m using uh…hands, a ballpoint pen plus dollar store sketchbook I do my roughs/thumbnails/take notes in, and I’m using Ibis Paint digitally, mainly just the default hard pen and an airbrush for her skin effects
You can't have shounen as a favorite! You're a girl! /s 😆 I love watching you make your art. Creating something out of nothing (I know that the tools you use are 'something') is fascinating. I'm so envious.
I thought you were gonna correct me for making shounen sound like a genre instead of a demographic, which I kinda fumbled up accidentally there haha 🤣 I can’t help it! I love shounen! Although I also like some shoujo, I just love COOL BOY SHOWS IDK ITS A VIBE THING 😎 Hey thank you so much!! I’m happy (if not a little shy) to show a lot more of my process this time. Maybe I’ll do this more often in the background of videos!! ❤️
This is also really interesting and probably tricky. I have a villain from Sunstrike and Bluemist who is something like this. Just the embodiment of practicality and survival becoming straight apathy. You can negotiate with him but you can’t move his heart.
Most authors are unable to understand a lack of emotion. It's just not something they can experience normally. While they can try and put themselves into those shoes and substitute logic for emotions it often falls flat. Often mysterious characters are given sunglasses to symbolize that they might be "hiding something".
I’m not sure I fully understand it either, but I really want to! I doubt most people or characters truly have no emotion, but they can struggle to express or intentionally hide those emotions.
@@sharosecomics7793 Other types of emotionless characters include "Ice Queens" and the "Stoic War Hero". Both would probably be a good topic for a future video tbh. As for IRL examples of people that could be classified as emotionless are Aromantic people who don't really feel the emotion of love, or only experience it weakly.
