Not a clock choke!!! That is a kata ha jime. Clock choke is when uke is turtled and you move around him like a clock with your hip ont the floor.

Curious if a reverse Gable grip can improve the choke like it does with an arm in guillotine.
@thejiujitsutech
@thejiujitsutech 6 месяцев назад
It would be difficult due to the opponents head being north of the shoulder instead of inside the arm. The S grip does achieve a similar result. One thing I didn’t mention in the video is to move your body perpendicular to the opponent to amp up the pressure.

This scene was choreographed by Rorion Gracie, who worked as a stuntman and fight coach for Rene Russo in the sequels.

I was 8 when I saw this. My babysitter was like you never watched lethal weapon?! I was a Rambo terminator kid. At first I thought it was like a scissor lock. My homie was a army ranger. He took me to a jits class. They showed the triangle. It hit me like a bolt of lightning! This is the move Riggs does! My baby sitter had no idea about jits. She just like action movies. She was the first person to introduce me to jits in a odd way. She has passed away. We would watch action movies all the time when I was a kid. Gotta give Mel a break cause he couldn’t just put Gary in a full locked triangle It’s a movie. Doesn’t matter cause it was a dam good fight for a movie showcasing jits. Some dude said it good in a comment above. Riggs was in jeans and they are soaking wet. Rorion Gracie is technically the one who introduced me to jits through lethal weapon. Then went on to being one of the guys to start up ufc.
@thejiujitsutech
@thejiujitsutech 9 месяцев назад
That’s awesome man! My dad introduced me to the movie when I was probably too young to watch these kinds of movies. When my mom wasn’t around we’d watch all of the classic 80’s action movies. This one being one of my favorites. I’ve been training Jiu-Jitsu for 13 years and it hit me that this was the first time I have seen Jiu-Jitsu. I even say “I’m getting too old for this sh*t” as a joke on the mats. I had a section explaining how the filmmakers choreographed the scene with Rorion helping with the Jiu-Jitsu parts but cut it because it didn’t flow well.

I would've given him a 2 stripe blue... because he executed the positions in a live fight with strikes with jeans on in the rain with a trained assassin ...plus he got the choke...they weren't precise but effective...Ronda Rousey's Mom always said..." It may look ugly but as long as you get it accomplished... something in those words...lol

@thejiujitsutech

This technique is mainly a self defense move to use against those with a little bit of wrestling experience. I always tell people to keep good posture in open guard and/or control the legs and hips as you attempt to pass.
