i am confused, at the end of the first round i only get 11 stiches and not 12... i tried so many times but i dont know where i am missing one stich! could you help me? thanks!
Hi, are you counting the beginning ch2 as your first half double crochet stitch? You should be chaining 2 and working a total of 11 stitches into the magic ring. You then slip stitch into the top of the beginning ch2 to join which will give you 12 stitches for the first round. You could refer to the photos in written pattern on my blog to get a clearer image of how it should look, here’s the blog link: hookedonpatterns.com/crochet-blog/pixel-heart-pillow-free-valentine-crochet-pattern
Hi, you can simply make the squares bigger by adding more rounds. Make a hdc in each of the hdc stitches and [hdc, dc, hdc] in the corner dc stitch for each additional round. To work out how big the finished cushion will be, just measure an individual square and multiply it by 8 for the Height and by 9 for the Width. The depth will be a little more than the size of 1 square.
I have tried this pattern MANY times, and it’s not working for me. I have extra stitches… I dont have enough. I’ve tried going along with the video and just reading the directions. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong!!! HELP!!
Hi Sandy! If you’d like to message me via my Facebook page, perhaps I can try and help you figure out what’s happening 😊 facebook.com/hookedonpatterns/
I am having the exact same issue - the SC2TG is always one stitch further on than it should be so not central. Did you solve the problem in the end? I don't usually have any issues with patterns so am very confused!
Hi Erin, the first sc2tog will be straddling over the base of where you made the 3sc, so that chain stitch should be quite easy to identify as the stitch will be slightly larger than the rest. When you come to make the sc2tog, you should be able to see a chain before this larger stitch, which is where you will start the sc2tog stitch. If you are finding that you are already at this larger stitch after making the 6 sc stitches on this side, you must have skipped a chain somewhere. The first sc of this side should be worked in the same end chain that you finished with 2 sc into. Then it’s 1 sc through the back of each chain after that, making 5 sc. Use the stitches you made on the other side as a guide for working along this side by inserting the hook at the base of the previous stitches. If you still need help, please feel free to contact me via my facebook page as mentioned above 😊
Thank you so much for this detailed reply which I will use to sit down and try again - I was so frustrated as your tutorial seems so clear! Unfortunately I'm not on FB but I think this will help me crack it! 🫶
You do an amazing job of crocheting. This tutorial was so easy to follow and your work is flawless! I really enjoyed the whole video and will be making these little guys for sure.
