I wish we had a similar high speed rail tunnel under the Irish Sea from Holyhead to Dublin but the plans keep getting shelved - imagine being able to travel from Manchester Victoria to Dublin Connolly by high speed rail, it would make going home to visit family in Ireland so much easier - maybe when the Irish government decides to comply with the EU directive to ban all short-haul flights between Ireland and the U.K. it might very well become a reality, especially if the CCP are given full and complete control of the U.K. railways
