can you do a video on the slip cast process of these ornaments. I have a mold, just learning and I feel like I am missing a step or maybe patience....
@ianchung1275
@ianchung1275 8 месяцев назад
The trick is you pour the slip in slowly from left side until it's fill all the way to the top. Then tilted to the right side (the other side ) and pour them out slowly almost right the way.

I find it positive to allow each glaze coat to dry before the next coat. Most of the time.
@wendybryan6071
@wendybryan6071 Год назад
What would happen if only one or two coats were applied?
@ianchung1275
@ianchung1275 Год назад
It will be just fine. Every glazes are slightly different, I do mostly 2 coats and smooth them down.

Beautiful! Does this citron glaze run?
@ianchung1275
@ianchung1275 Год назад
I will say it move a little, but not out of ordinary. 2 coats and fire to Cone 5 hold 10 minutes.

This video looks like the answer I have been looking for to clean my raku jewelry! Looks like you were using a Bernzomatic for MAP fuel in your video. Thanks for your help!

Why aren't u letting the wheel work for you? Spin it
@ianchung1275
@ianchung1275 6 лет назад
Nick Doe , I do use potter’s wheel for bigger pieces. I can easily adjust the height with banding wheel for smaller pieces with various height.

Hi Ian, Was this pot glazed raw, or was the pot bisque fired. It looks to me to be leather hard clay.
@Neldidellavittoria
@Neldidellavittoria 7 лет назад
From the sound of the brush against the pot it's bisque. You can also tell by the quick absorption of the first hand of glaze.
@wendybryan6071
@wendybryan6071 Год назад
NEVER apply glaze to raw clay. It has to be bisque fired.
