making this decision right now & i’m leaning jag because my other main guitar is an ES-335. the shorter scale should feel natural to me & it seems further separated from the ES-335 tonally
After 20 years of playing strats and teles, I purchased my first jazzmaster. For a minute I was worried I might never bond with it the way I had desired because of being so spoiled with the ease of finding good tone with strats/teles. I've since learned it's pickups and love how versatile it is.
thanks for the nice review i hate it when these reviewers start off by bashing it before they even play it. too negative for me. these guitars at this price point are excellent guitars new or used. down the road maybe some simple up grades if you feel so.
I just needed this specific video about these two specific series of Jaguar/Jazzmaster, thanks! I'd actually like to see a review of the Jaguar, would you say the stock bridge is as bad as people say? That's one factor that has me on the fence about the jaguar that's available here (VM).
Thanks so much for watching! I don’t think the stock bridge is as bad as people say it is. It all comes down to a good set up. Puisheen has great set up videos to guide you on how to do one if there’s no guitar techs in your area. That being said if you’re looking for something that’s ready to go right out of the box then another jaguar might be a better choice.
Wow, after a first chord I thought that it reminds me of "fake plastic trees"... and after that guy starts playing one of my favorite songs by my favorite band. That's like a dream, just wow 🤭 P.s. Damn, in the end is my favorite coldplay song! You made my day haha
Great question! To my surprise the tele sounded brighter, more articulate, and all around more versatile. I like the Starcaster more for its ergonomics and look but it just didn’t sound as good despite having the same pickups on paper.
I’ll be totally transparent, I’ve always wanted a Jazzmaster exclusively because Elvis Costello played one in the video for Pump it Up and on the cover of My Aim is True and I was a massive EC fan as a teenager so I thought “well I’ve GOTTA get his guitar”.. To this day I still have never owned a jazzmaster. One day, I’m just broke.
Hey well congratulations, man!! That's awesome and a more than worthy excuse. My daughter just finished her 1st year of college.... blows my mind. Haha. Cheers! See ya when I see ya. No rush. Appreciate the reply. Good luck to you and your little family.
I ultimately went with the Tele. Starcaster was a very cool guitar with a lot of mojo but sounded too muddy and changing pickups on a semi-hollow was something I just wasn’t interested in. The tele was much more articulate and a lot lighter which made it a more enjoyable experience.
Hey man, I love the video. I was wondering if you could post the full version of this song 0:41 I’m not sure if it’s an original or not in anyways the video’s great and you helped me decide on my first electric guitar! Thank you.
Hey! Thanks for your kind words. The song is “With it Without You” by U2 and this cover is based on video by another creator. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OyOs8Iuqiaw.htmlsi=zNNnhDZsZBdPYEtA
