That part where Jerry and Bob are singing "I'll get back on my feeet some day' is hauntingly brilliant. And having Pete in the background just completes it. I'm a huge Who fan so seeing Pete and Jerry jam at the end is beautiful..
Being born and raised in San Francisco every time I hear this song it reminds me of my younger days taking acid or drinking and hanging around the piers at night and venturing into North Beach and hanging around The Saloon because nobody ever carded me anywhere except for the liquor store owned by Korean dude on the kitty-corner. Oh, can't forget about The Stone! Man, I used to have so much fun for $2 (a trip).

Had a few drinks yesterday and it really made me feel like crap. More talkative and outgoing for a little while but felt like crap later from just 2 beers and 2 wines. Alcohol ruins lives. Guy in his 60s at the bar kept pounding back jack and waters on ice...probably had like 7 of them...nice guy but he kept hitting on the bartender who was almost 20 years younger than him...just embarrassing

Compare any of his playing and voice to any similar era Dead show. What a difference. No matter how lugubrious he was with the Dead, almost all through the last days you can hear (and see) the difference when he’s doing what he loves, by that time I’m pretty sure was not playing with the Dead, all detractors aside.
