Hey are there ways of investing and just leave your money there to grow, maybe just check in months later on how you doing with profits rather than always having to come back and check everyday?
Hey, that is the best way of investing 😅. Have a clear plan, buy the assets and then go away for a long time. You can easily use Easy Equities for that, buy your shares and ETFs and then don't check every month. In fact, checking your investment all the time can lead to losing money because you will start to touch things and make mistakes
You would just open an account with Easy Equities, alternatively you can have a discovery bank account and access the easy equities TFSA account that way
Great video. Thank you. Have you covered ETF investments? I love them - very low fee and you own a LOT of shares with one transaction plus you often get dividends. It's interesting to see WHAT shares you are investing in, so the 'fact sheet' normally is a great resource - telling you what shares you have bought, as well as the performance over 1 year, 3 years, etc., plus the distributions (dividends) and fee.
Yes, I do cover ETFs extensively especially on Instagram and TikTok, check out those videos to see more and learn more about the good and the bad of ETFs
Hey Andisiwe, you just need to email easy Equities and they will sort you out, alternatively you can find out your username in the password reset steps 🙂
Hey, it would depend on if you want to reinvest the profit into the same asset or new asset. If it's the same asset then you would just leave the money in the asset, if it's another asset then you would sell the portion that represents the profit and then buy the other asset you want. If you want to reinvest dividends, there is an automated setting that you click and the account buys the asset automatically when dividends are paid out
@@moneymondays Thanks. It’s the same asset, re-investing with the idea to grow that same asset. What do you mean just leave it there? Do I not sell the profit and then buy more shares with the profit of that investment?
That's true, the majority of technical indicators have become basically pointless to use especially in fast moving markets. However, they are still useful for broad analysis of historical market activity at a macro scale, they are just not useful for making predictions and thus decisions. Hence, in the video I do not promote them to be used for trade or investment decisions, just only data visualisation and analysis.
Outperform in terms of growth in value? That would depend on the counter Currency it is being compared to. BTC vs ZAR, or BTC vs USD, BTC vs JPY? The basket of global fiat currencies have challenges but they have acceptability by the public as legal tender so they have that advantage, but in terms of value, if the laws and regulations were to stay the same then BTC would outperform them. But regulations, laws and Central Bank Digital Currencies are in my view, a hanging sword over BTC and other cryptos. Some governments will embrace them and others will reject and outlaw them completely
@@moneymondays Valid point taken. I meant that will bitcoin become a world reserve if physical cash becomes obsolete? I don't think outlawing bitcoin will be the best policy. Bitcoin is the future and it's here to change the evolution of money. The world order is becoming digital. What interests me about bitcoin is the factor of "Decentralization" which enhance market accessibility and efficiency without an regulated authority. Bitcoin is the new free market enterprise.
The balance should reflect immediately but being able to withdraw the money takes about 3 days due to the settlement period. If your balance didn't change then you may have entered a pending order and not a market order
exactly. and i feel like the earlier you do it, the easier it is to keep going. cause a lot of people get a job, start spending and racking up bills, and when they start thinking of investing, they realise they don’t have much left to invest.

It depends on what I'm looking for, but it usually takes me a week to gather and anslyse data, this is usually for 2 companies per week, sometimes more. The research process can take at least 3 months to build a proper risk adjusted portfolio. I usually conduct the research at the end of cycle/period. Eg: the last 3 months of the year are good times to do research for assets to buy for the following year
Hey Lukhono, hmm, at this moment, I wouldn't buy Purple Group shares. They have had their first surge (2 years ago) when they had a really great narrative/story. This gave the share price some upwards momentum. However, at this moment the narrative is neutral and leaning on negative. Plus the financials haven't been that great. So there really is no buying opportunity. However, at some point in the future a new story/narrative may develop which can bring buyers back to the stock. It would have to be a really good story though eg: successfully expanding the service into more countries, getting more users, managing costs and increasing AUM/3rd Party Funds and thus generating more fees. It will take a while to get back to that story again 😅.
No dont fall for this.... you never get any rental dividends. I have invested in this property for over 2 years. No rental money as promised. Also since they are forcing subscriptions on people I want to leave the app, but it I cant get my money out of the properties. I have to wait for an auction. I put a bid out for it to be sold... nothing. Logging into the app is also a nightmare and only works 3/10 times. It always gives me an error when I want to log
Hey Sasha, I hope you are well. Your frustration is reasonable. Before you invested, Had you read the prospectus for each individual property you bought shares of? And where exactly on the account are you checking your dividends? Unfortunately, property is not a liquid asset, so selling can be difficult hence the auction system being on an Open Season and Closed Season basis. It is to create periods of liquidity. And if you place your Offer price to high then other investors might not want to purchase your shares.
Hey, there are a lot of resources to use to gather information. It depends on your investment strategy. I would say, start by using platforms like Benzinga, morning star, tradingview, Bloomberg, SENS and company reports
Thanks for the great content. There is a miss however in your presentation. You sold part of the share and you withdrew straight but I believe when you sell and the money shows in your account, it stays unsettled for some time. before it reflects in settled for you to be able to withdraw. that missed part is very important for new investors on EA. But good walkthrough though.
yes, the Cash is regarded as "unsettled", however "unsettled cash" is still a captured gain. The settling of cash is more of an administrative factor due to how transactions occur at the auction and how trades and transfers are settled, usually 3 days, but it does not change the gains captured from the sale at the price and time the asset is disposed. So basically "unsettled cash" is a reflection of what is in your account but not withdrawable for administrative reasons, so withdrawing is fine as the free-standing cash and unsettled cash are in the same pool.. your money.
