These are actually really impressive little engines! If you know what you're doing these engines respond extremely well to tuning. Mine is currently outputting a tad under 250 HP with 293 ft lbs of torque at the crank with just modifications to the factory Garrett turbo, a better intercooler, ram air induction system, Magnaflow exhaust and downpipe, Alpha Romero 4C racing coilpacks, and a mild port on the intake and exhaust runners (these engines to respond well to tuning needs a port job due to the small size of the intake and exhaust runners). And not to mention that I live near sea level which gives boosted engines a great advantage due to the higher air density. Not to mention using ethanol with a methanol injection system. With boosted engines keeping the intake air charge temperature cool is the key to producing good power numbers.
Boost pressure has nothing to do with power. It is the total quantity of air. You could run 30psi on the stock turbo, but it would be really hot air with not many o2 molecules in it.
Nice build !! doing the same to my Abarth except mine is not T-Jet we will see what kind of numbers I can get built internals and all supporting mods with big boy turbo.
