"We are thrilled to share that the development of ALARA Prime is moving full steam ahead with the team still onboard and the vision unchanged. In order to deliver the best possible experience, ALARA Prime will not launch in Q3 2024 as previously announced. That being said, we know many of you are eager to play again, so starting up playtests before the end of year is a priority, and we are counting on your continuous feedback and support to make ALARA the best it can be. We will have more details on the timeline and how you can join playtests in the next big update so stay tuned for that and keep Discord notifications on! Thanks for all the support and patience - it really means the world to us." - ALARA Prime Developers (official Discord)
Great vid. Fun to see all the different "eras" and see some of the old names again. I hope 1.0 brings in new players and some of those old players back.
I fall behind on RG Disc all the time so I just now saw your vid pop up. I didn't realize Shroud was more than an advisor on this game, but it looks sick. I saw Tomo or one of the other big FPS guys post a video on this and I was hooked on the concept. I think Fragpunk looks cool too, but between the two, I think maybe this one looks a little more my vibe. Did you do anything special to get into a playtest? Or just luck? I love the look of this and am super intrigued by it, but I really enjoy TDM style play for casual nights and this doesn't seem like it would necessarily be conducive to that? Cheers Maskk
It will have a casual mode and a ranked mode! You should be able to request access via Steam, there will be an open beta soon: store.steampowered.com/app/2641470/Spectre_Divide/
I started playing CSGO in 2012 and at this point, I'm tired of competitive games. I just want to play casual "mess around" type games like casual Team Fortress 2 and BTB Halo 3. Best of luck to this new game. I dont want to put a damper on your mood if this is what you like. Its just something thats been on my mind and I wanted to put it out there for all my brothers who just want to goof around in an FPS without being screamed at.
I see what you are saying, I grew up playing Battlefield and I feel like that was a casual experience where you could just jump on, play however you want and none of it really mattered. Now, I personally enjoy the competitive experience, I like playing with-and-against good players, with good comms and teamwork, it's fun and can be super intense. I'd rather be getting call-outs yelled at me and lose a match, than play a casual game. I think PvP games these days won't have the player-base of games like CS2, Valorant, R6: Siege (100's of thousands and millions of players) simply because a lot of "casual" PvP games don't provide an exciting enough game-play loop to keep players around. Causal games can now only really be PvE, the PvP players want ranks, events, tournaments, amateur/semi-pro/pro leagues, etc., all of the things casual games do not focus on.
