I sort of love the hodgepodge architecture. It's as if every building was stylish or made sense when build but never really went together. Think I saw, mission revival, mid-century, CA brutalism, modern, a beaux arts, and that new "university modern"? (Chen Building, UCSF Diller)
Thanks for sharing this! I first Walked onto that campus in 1986 and lived in Dabney Hall during all but summer quarter. (Lived on Wheeler in summer) Graduated Class of ’89 and played baseball. Other than Nippert and maybe the quad, nothing looks the same. Was that Daniels Hall toward the end? I’d probably get lost there today. I’ll be dreaming about it now in next cpl days. 😂. Beautiful University today.
I look at the Harvard and I think that universities tear young people away from reality, and that it is impossible to return to reality after university illusions. As a result, few people in the world are capable of solving the problems that have accumulated before humanity. The best teacher is life itself. Philosophers, historians, lawyers and journalists must work in seven different businesses, communicate with a wide range of people and learn a living and practical psychology. Academic psychology is only suitable for intellectual narcissists to entertain their peers over cups of coffee. A practicing intellectual person does not need forty subjects studied in universities, but much less. So you need to come to the university once a year for a week or two not only to take a small number of exams (one exam per year), but above all to communicate with intelligent people who help to systematize the experience gained during discussions. . It is necessary to implement the principle of Socrates: it is not necessary to put ready-made theories in a person's brain, but to let theories be born in his brain. So we do not need conferences, but debates on questions from real life. And to have food for discussion, you have to immerse yourself in real life, and not be in an artificial university environm.
Imagine the carbon emission reduction if the University of Hawaii campuses invested in EV charging and the faculty and staff had EVs that they drove to campus!
Im boycotting Ohio state university and all the businesses and people who support Ohio state, due to the treatment of the pro Palestinian student protestors
Barren is the word, recorded on a Sunday I guess. Also the walk is around the campus rather than through it. I was a part time student at UMB from 1992 through 2002 when I finally got my degree. There are new buildings I do not recognize, but in my opinion, a proper tour would go inside and through the buildings and through the walkways (pedestrian bridges) that connect the buildings interior.
Boy has that campus changed. I graduated back in the '70's w/both a Certificate of Graduation in Aircraft Maintenance, as well as an Associate in Applied Science in Aeronautics. I went on for my Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering out west at Washington State University and Central Washington University. Since then, I've worked at Boeing, Lockheed Martin, as well as Northrop Grumman where I presently work, as an engineer.

I went to school there 50 years ago. Very fond memories of the place that was my home for 4 years. Thank you for providing this video, I really enjoy revisiting.
