Hey everybody, Igor here from Cars Exposed thanks for tuning in.
I will be uploading videos here regularly sharing my experiences working around cars on my driveway, exposing issues, auto repair, auto electric, oil changes, services, projects and more...
Hello mate , many thanks indeed for showing me it,s unneccessary to drop the whole subframe off to do this , just undo the 4 bolts holding the antiroll bar brackets down , ( ideal time to change the bushes on these as well ) swivel that up out of the way & tie it to something secure , then go in with this kit , I,ve got my gearbox out so bags of room , albeit under a suspended engine , ( gonna need more than an hard hat if that chain breaks ! ) . Just a suggestion , is the C shaped clamp / bracket meant for the alloy version of the subframe ? Possibly why it won,t fit on the steel one . Get the hole well rid of burrs , it may have got squashed up a bit on a previous bush change done by somebody you know nothing about . This would cause the deformity to cause this effect . Check the hole is still circular with bore gauges first , if not , rectify . I,ll try either copper grease or tyre soap for lube on this , on mine 2 bolts into the steering rack just won,t budge , force them & they,d snap , not on is it & the rack is a hydraulic power assisted one so can,t use heat on their lugs , as it could well explode . This provides the answer , I could see that you need to have the ingoing bushes PERFECTLY aligned & square with the hole , It,s advisable to squash just one in at a time if the kit allows it . I,m used to changing steel sleeved bushes on Landrovers , which are bloody difficult , no give in them at all & the hole has to be perfect or they skew & jam . Thanks for the knowledge , it,s the spirit of RU-vid , Best Regards .
Thank you so much for posting this! Had exactly the same problem on Skoda Karoq 2018 and autoservice guys (which I like and trust) offered full replacement with whichever struts I buy. The cheapest ones I found are about 250 EUR a piece. Original ones are 500-600+. For those who want to fix/replace a strut on Karoq, it's a bit more tricky as the inside plastic cover cannot be taken right away. You have to remove rear-bottom and side black plastic panels in the trunk first (also unscrew the horizontal bar from the side if you are replacing the strut on the driver's side). After that, upper plastic panel that covers the wires comes off rather easily. And probably you don't need to take if of entirely. Anyway, worth the money in any case.
I find it impossible to get the cables back and rotate the heater control panel to right position to fasten it down. It just does 't fit... Guess I just drive with my control panels hanging around the cabin ....
Just wondering if you could feel any feedback through the steering wheel when moving? I have a rotational grind/rub and can feel it the the steering wheel, but no squeek lol! Thank you.
@1:26 anyone know the size of the nuts, specifically the diameter .. Had to break mine off .. The thread on the stud is 1.25 but my die ( 10mm x 1.25) set wouldn't run over the stud.. Seems to be 10 or around that

Watch "Kennedy" garage, he has a simplier way of removing it (2 hour job) , turbo oil pipes untouched. Pity skoda designed egr in such an awkard position
Good evening, last summer I replaced the front brake pads on my w169. the brake wear warning light came on so I did the job properly. The brake pad wear warning light remains on anyway. What do you think it could be? no mechanic here in Italy wants to get involved. Thank you
My PS fan is working. But my radiator fan is not turning on until the PS fan turns off. And its to late. It overheats. The radiator fan is brand new. Not sure whats going on. Any ideas?
Hello! I have the same car..my technician removed the intake manifold and clean up the top cylinder, replaced everything and started fine but the second day,we want to start the car by all means but never started..it only cranks and removers white smoke from the intake but never turns on.. I'm totally confused.. what are your ideas please?
I've done this. You MUST be very careful getting the unit out and putting it back. The hidden clips on top of the air vent must be dealt with like a surgeon. Otherwise, you will tear the dash. Also, get some really narrow needlenose plyers to pull the plugs from the backside. Some are right next to each other and virtually no space between.
Thank you for this video you saved me alot of time. I ended up just removing plugs and soldering all wires together one by one as plugs on mine were super corroded.
Excellent video, I too was able to fix the same problem. I would add - because I thought I'd done something wrong and took it all apart again - is that the front windscreen wipers don't seem to work when the bonnet is open so make sure its closed when testing your work! Also, if possible, avoid turning the ignition on with the airbag removed. This throws up an error that needs to be reset and I couldn't do it from my basic setup - obd2 dongle &phone app.
