Born and raised in eastern Nebraska. Graduated from Millard High in 1966. I love the oldies and wish they were more readily available. My hope with this channel is to create an archive to educate ourselves and younger people in the music and culture of our times.
My channel is not R rated. Not even PG-13. I remove all comments which include profanity or are hateful and, if repeated, I block the member. If you aren't sure what is OK just think broadcast TV in the 1950s and 60s - zero tolerance.
I not love their music and songs but I fell in love with Marilyn McCoo the lead female singer . 😊 She was actually married to lead vocalist she is singing to 🎵
Doesnt it jar the brain that you look at the music from the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and songs are about love and longing. Women and men are respected in music. Look at todays music. There are a rare few (Buble, Grobin, etc) that sing songs of that era or new songs that evoke that era but other than those rare few there is no way a female singer is anywhere near the artists of the past.
Marilyn McCoo was such a talent and beautiful and down to earth person. She and her husband never let their fame or their career interfere with their marriage. They deserve to be honored and remembered in the music industry for their contribution.
Laura Nyro wrote the song Wedding Bell Blues but it fit, it fit so perfectly that as a child I believed that she proposed to him, years later I found that's not the way it happened. Laura wrote many songs that made many big names huge.
My real name is William but they call me bill. I went in service, and my g/f at the time sung this song to me, and when I got out, I married her, and today were still married with 2 kids. My wife now is my best friend
My Grandma's favorite song. She passed away this Saturday, September 21st, 2024, while I was holding her hand. What a blessing she was to my life. I truly hope I get to see her again. 😇🕊
The clothing fads and hair styles ..irrelevant. The message is True day to day ,generation to generation. Truth does not need any protection. It is like a full grown Male Lion. It can take care of the jackals and is not afraid of Elephants.
There was a guy in college named Bill who I had a crush on. I asked him to a dance. He said yes. I went to my dorm room and this song was on the radio. He had to cancel the next day. I was devastated! Back in my dorm room your song ,"One Less Bell to Answer," played. It was prophetic!!
