Watching him fight Nate Diaz really hurt. He couldn’t even do his pre fight slides. He’d completely lost mobility. Age gets us all. In Tony’s prime he was one of those guys who was just so stupid that he didn’t care to get hit. He could take it and he’d counter you and hurt you with something weird. Tony was in his absolute prime when he beat down josh Thomson with ease. He made josh never want to fight again. & he was an elite fighter. His fight against Barboza was when he was killing people too. Super impressive. At some point he stopped using his wrestling and just started trying to walk its down and box only. No knees or elbows or anything. The Kevin Lee fight was the last time we ever truly saw tony. After that knee injury he was never the same. I knew he’d lose the gaethje fight. It hurt to watch. He looked scared on the feet for the first time ever and a shell of himself. Super one dimensional. You can even see the Sachs he in Tony’s physique change. Poor guy. Tough as nails though.
