The manager is not allowed to accost you like this, if he has any suspicions about you he should alert security < whom should have a valid sia doir supervisor badge, not a security badge, not a cctv operator badge, or even a close protection badge, the only badge that allows you to search someones person, or their belongings, or restrain if necessary is a door supervisor badge. And even then if working in a supermarket he/she must have witnessed a concealment or another member of staff must have witnessed it 100% and asked him to intervene.

Cameras/computer tracking follows every customer that enters . They enter the store and are allocated a green customer tag ( on camera ) , Customers that don’t follow the “ predicted customer route “ ( P.C.R) will go from green to orange ,if they continue to roam the store they go red , if a customer states in a high value aisle for to long they go red , if a customer returned to the wine and spirits section 3 times they would go red and an alert would come up . Customer tracking and face recognition is alive and well in Tesco
