I just got this today for £20 used and wanted to see what others thought. Why he got rid of it is a mystery. It’s a great example of the Vox sound. It drives the front end of my Fender Bassbreaker really nicely. Pure Vox tone. I’ve yet to try it in the fx loop, but that’s for another day. For £20 I couldn’t be happier.
@@f33fifofum yeah, absolutely. This is an ideal casual board. Anything more complex probably won't even fit on the board and the power sure won't cope with it either 😂
@@tkabiranik the fusion is a more modern feeling instrument, this definitely has it's toes dipped in the vintage pool. It really depends what you're after, but the specs on the HB are more premium at very least.
@@Steinstra-vj7wl it was a really interesting point bought up by Chris as I'd never heard of them before. I think both are a massive improvement over the Fender ones 👍
After 4 days planning with the Storm I love it's unique sound of dirt and clean signals. I own hundreds of pedals and lots of overdrive but the storm is different to everything. Just about to play it against a vintage boss od clone but they will be nothing alike. A must own pedal for overdrive fans. Warm can chunk too, fiery is hot
Got one of these but am returning it because it really sucks your tone, both engaged and in bypass (it isn’t true bypass). Also found the effects too extreme with me having to run the mix at near zero. I am fan of Demon pedals but this one offers a lot but doesn’t deliver where it counts. I may give the Ravine a go but I wish it offered more conventional delay and reverb options.
Rowin ODRIVE Il : Two working modes: Warm/Hot Warm: reproduce the classical electronic overdrive with plump, warm and sweet effect Hot: a more powerful “Crunch’’ Sound
@@BudgetPedalChap Never! For the past many years I have played SG's 99% of the time. Since December when I got my SG special with those delightful P90's I have played that almost exclusively
@@BudgetPedalChapI have two Strats, I just don’t play them. I have a couple teles, one of which I love and play every once in a while but I always reach for an SG. I love looking at my Les Paul and I love how it makes me feel when I play it but I don’t like actually playing it. Heavy AF with no upper fret access and a body shape that looks gorgeous but feels uncomfortable. Strats and SGs have a way of disappearing into your body when you play them. My PRS McCarty is the best built guitar I own. Zero flaws. I just don’t feel cool when I play it 😂
Sounds OK, but nothing like a real Univibe. The transition from low to high is too fast and a Univibe has a heartbeat kind of double throb at low speed settings. Listen to Machine Gun or the Woodstock version of the Star Spangled Banner by Hendrix and you will hear what I mean. Not a bad pedal for what it is, but it should not be called a Univibe. This sounds more like a warbly phase shifter to me.
Interesting. Most low end univibe pedals use either LED or are just digital emulations if the real thing. I happen to know that this one uses an actual lamp and photocells to produce the sound so should be quite authentic in comparison. I'll have a listen out and see if I can notice the things you pointed out 👍
Mine arrived from "Affordaboard" earlier this week. It's a belter of a pedal. I found it works best after all my other drives (Tumnus > Bonsai > Angry Driver > NUX`63) - if just gives all the other pedals a bit of grit if required, or played on it's own sounds "fab". Colour me impressed. £35 - bargain.
@@BudgetPedalChap I bought one for 150 ish. Then I got a build kit for one off Amazon for 40 bucks took about an hour of soldering time. And I suck at it. They sound exactly the same
@@WilDBeestMF yeah, it gives a kind of metallic whipping sound. That's why I opted for the 5p coin as the grooved edge at least has a little grip to it - well that and I actually have 5p 🤣🤣
@@jamessilver2748 why thank you very much. It's definitely been inspired by the questions people ask in the comments to videos. Thanks as always for your support my good man 👍
Good Friday evening, great video and possible tutorial on how to get the BM sound from Queen. Very inspiring. I wish you a nice summer weekend. Pavel CZ.👍👍👍
@@TheGuitarEffect cheers gent. I like Brian as much as the next guy, I like the music a decent amount but never really tried to play much like Brian. I'm glad I could fake it well enough 🤣🤣
@@Gearjunkie35 cheers gent. I think for less than 250 English pounds, it does a rather good job of getting that tone. Thanks as always for your support gent 👍
One more comment. Listening to the std mode it reminded me of ZZ TOP 1ST ALBUM. especially the intro of BROWN SUGAR! I play it with Tele 52 reissue and a Gibson sg w/P90s and the sound is as thick as it should be
@@MementoMoriOfficiall from memory, it's pretty deep and slow. Start with everything at 12 o clock and then adjust the depth and speed little by little until you get where you need to be 👍
I have a Vintage with a Wilkinson P90 and I agree with you a 100%. My other recommendation is Warman Pickups, also from the UK, I have a set of their's in my 7 string and I like it a lot.
@@JasonWharton82 yeah, I know what you mean. It's got the look of a much more modern guitar, but has the trimmings of a vintage guitar. It sits in two camps kind of. Cheers for the kind words 👍
The AZES is just an overpriced GRX40 trying to milk the AZ brand name. Plus, now that the Harley Benton ST-Modern Plus is out, the AZES is completely obsolete in that price point.
@@ErebosGR yeah, Harley Benton have got a lot going on at this price point with the fusion and and st modern. They've also got some more vintage inspired picks at a cheaper price. The AZ es is in a bit of a difficult spot to be fair, but the Ibanez brand has a bit more sway than the HB name currently but not for much longer if HB continue to produce great quality and affordable lines 👍
Awesome vid mate! Cheers for the shout out 😃🙏 Loved "the last bus hame" at the end 😎👌 You really nailed that "John Mayer trying to nail 1990 Clapton" lead tone - Perfect! 😃👌
@@stevecassidyguitar cheers our pal, thanks for such a banging deal on it too 👍 Now it's budget pedal chap trying to nail John Mayer trying to nail 90s Clapton tone. I feel this has the potential to be the musical equivalent of a early 2000s email chain mail 😂😂
