I purchased a used unit with 10 hours of use and the second time I fired it up the impeller exploded. I had inspected the unit before purchasing it and didn’t see any cracks in the impeller. I was happy with its performance before this happened. I contacted the company hoping I could get a break on a new one but they refused replacement. I wasn’t asking for a free one, just possibly a discount but no way. The unit was purchased for testing as the city was wanting to cut back on the leaves entering the storm sewer system. The city was offering partial payment to local lawn care business that could offer this service. Granted this was a used unit and maybe not a fair evaluation but the unit had an hour meter installed at the time of purchase as the owner was very meticulous.

We apologize sincerely for the delay in getting back to you. We understand your concerns regarding the issues you experienced with your unit, especially since it's second-hand. When dealing with second-hand units, various factors like age, maintenance history, and storage conditions can affect their performance. While we do trust hour meters, without information about the unit's previous ownership and storage environment, fully assessing the situation becomes challenging. Storage conditions, such as exposure to elements like UV rays, play a significant role in the longevity of the system. Understanding where and how the unit was stored is crucial in determining its current state. Our team did receive and respond to a couple of contact forms via our website back in 2020 which we believe may have been from you, but we were unsuccessful in engaging a dialogue at that time. In an effort to assist you with this, we will be reaching out again to the email address we have on file from that contact. Please also feel free to reach out to us via www.cyclonerake.com/contactus, in order to establish a channel of communication. From there we will see if we can gather information about the unit's age and prior owner from you. This additional insight about your Cyclone Rake's history will allow us to explore possible avenues of addressing your concerns and providing support, if possible. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

I purchased a Cyclone Rake Commander 1 month ago. The MDA did take me about 45 minutes to install, but I expected this. I wanted a perfect fit and I took my time. The instructions were spot on, no issues except I did need to install an additional wood spacer to get the correct height for my deck. Wish I had got this 10 years ago and saved so much time doing my leaves every year. The Cyclone Rake is overbuilt with heavy duty hardware and a simple design. I've used it 4 times now and love it!

Good video, although it should not be expected that most customers could do this themselves, especially if they are not handy with mechanical things, and don't own the required tools, such as jigsaw, etc. It should be mentioned in the video somewhere that if you are not comfortable with this process, to hire a mower technician or mechanic to assist, or purchase the bagger system originally designed for your mower, to avoid this process. Appreciate the video for my setup!

Hi there! Sorry for the delay in responding. We're glad the video helped with your assembly. You mention some valid points. We designed the Cyclone Rake so almost anyone can assemble it, but there will certainly be people who need help. We often recommend having someone assist who can help with heavy parts and lend some tools. Overall, we've found the majority of our customers find the easy-to-follow instructions and how-to videos to be enough. We appreciate your feedback and if you ever have questions or need assistance, we're here to help!

Will it work with a zero turn?
@CycloneRake
@CycloneRake 9 месяцев назад
Hello! That's a good question. We don't have a special model specifically for a zero-turn mower, but all models of the Cyclone Rake will fit just about any tractor or riding mower, even zero-turn mowers, as long as the mower deck discharge is on the right-hand side. We custom-fit every Cyclone Rake to your specific tractor which ensures maximum collection power and performance. If you'd like to check if your specific zero-turn mower is compatible before you decide to buy, then we would need to know the make, model number, and deck size to check for you.

This was the most technical part of the installation. Just follow the directions and it should go together very well. When things did not go as I wanted I called for support. Good Gawd they were prompt and great with instructions. I have not been unhappy for one instance with this purchase. Really wished I had bought it years ago.

Warning the impeller will Explode when it gets old mine did this year 2022 when I did 1st startup . Check it for any Damage and don't look in the open ports when running with it not hooked up to the cart bag. It broke apart like a side or rear glass on auto does million small pieces and shot out the top As stated below by Cyclone Rake "Because the impellers are made from a material called Super Elastomer, which is sort of similar to rubber, they can become brittle" so be safe

My collector does not fold up like that. One side will not go flat down the other side is caught up with fabric which is wall of collector. Very misleading to fold up the unit. My unit which is the commander will not fold up flat like in this video.
@CycloneRake
@CycloneRake 2 года назад
We're sorry if you having trouble folding down the Collector Bag. Usually, there are two common mistakes: 1. The side link assembly is pointing in the wrong direction. 2. The back of the collector is closed. To correct these, here's what you can do: When you lift the slide covering the joint of the side link assembly at the front of the collector bag, the join must bend to the outside of the collector bag. If the hinge is released and they bend toward the middle of the collector bag, the bag will not fold down completely. Be sure to also make sure the back of the bag is open as if you were going to empty the debris before attempting to fold the bag. Here is a link to our instruction sheet for this: documents.cyclonerake.com/view/168295/ We hope this helps. If not, please let us know and we can have someone contact you to troubleshoot. Thanks!

I have cyclone pro for 3 years now. Great machine but extremely hard to unload.
@CycloneRake
@CycloneRake 2 года назад
Hello. If you are having difficulty unloading your collector, we do have some tip that may help: Debris can become tightly packed inside the collector unit because of the weight and the jostling caused by driving on rough ground. When you lift the collector unit to dump it, give it a few shakes before driving forward. Another way to loosen the debris is to give the sides of the bag a few pushes inward with your hands after raising the collector into the dump position. Try not to overfill the collector bag. After some practice using the Cyclone Rake, you will become familiar with the feel of the collector bag as it fills.

I had my local welding/fabrication shop make a steel plate for the bottom of my MDA. I should say my second MDA. I was wearing through the bottom of them in one season. No more issues. Makes me wonder why they don’t have a steel bottom plate from the factory.
@CycloneRake
@CycloneRake 2 года назад
Hello, thanks for sharing your feedback. Our MDAs are made of High Density Polyethylene. They're specifically designed for higher air flow and fewer clogs than other grass catcher boots on the market. They're also much tougher and stronger, and they have convenient quick-release latches for easy connection. The bottom of the MDA should not be dragging on the ground. If yours is, please let us know and we will be more than happy to contact you and discuss.
