Nice digs and awesome surrounding area from the sound of it👍 Walmart sells a personal toaster oven for $20 - 6x6 I believe - if you want to bake your shepherds pie.. or next size up is $30ish. Have an awesome time at the C.O.D. Championship!🏆🎉
I am almost 100%. Thank you I already left home for Dalas for my week of Call of Duty Championship in Dallas. Then I'll be back home for a couple days afterwords as well.
Awesome mileage👍 Just an idea, thought about trying a compression sleeve on the knee while walking? Or maybe rolling it out afterwards with a foam roller 🤷🏻♀️ Worth a shot. Your motivation is inspiring, great work!🥾💪
Thanks!!! I should roll out the muscles for sure. I may wear a sleeve on the knee on race day.....I for sure will have it available in case. For now I am trying to strengthen the knee, so I don't want to artificial help it while strengthening it. That's my thought anyway....but rolling I def would help the revovery.
Those were surely some big puppy dog tracks! Had covid, binging your vids to catch up. Stellar numbers, especially for a “not feeling it” kind of day👍 🥾 💪
Musta had a migraine to sideline you like that. Whenever i have one I have to be in total darkness and keep my body at a 45 degree angle while I sleep. Otherwise nausea starts to settle in nicely lol no joke! Glad ur better tho.
I'm always jotting down notes....sometimes important, other times not. One is specifically for video ideas that pop into my head, like "under trailer shot of connecting 5th wheel" (one I have yet to video). Before I got my weighted vest, the idea first popped into my head while driving, so I can't look up weighted vests while driving, but can quickly write "weight vest running" in the other notebook (one with stuff to buy, from things to look up, like I looked up video glasses, to walmart shopping lists.)
@@fpstrucking So they're for ideas? I do the same thing but on my phone. Any random thought I don't want to forget and I imagine you come up with a LOT while.driving. I was thinking those notebooks were work related, keeping a record of miles/$ spent on gas, or a detailed record of cities you've gone thru, stuff like that. When you finally do that video of how the 5th wheel works, please please point out what you're talking about with good lighting. Seen so many vids of it but they simply point their camera under there and talk us thru it assuming we're familiar with all those greasy parts. Awhile ago you gave us a detailed explanation of proper emergency cone placement which was great. I appreciate that kinda info, which is why I was asking bout your notebooks. Trying to learn good trucker habits before attempting to get my own CDL.
Anymore, since any fuel payment etc is all by card, it's compiled automatically....no need to keep records, they keep themselves. I definitely will do a detailed 5th wheel vid.
What exactly do you mean....if you mean do they drop you if you fail once, no.....many drivers had to retest sever times to pass and finally get their CDL....but I imagine there is a limit......I would guess 12 would be too many attempts and you would probably be dropped. Not sure if that answers it.....
What’s a realistic average pay per week for a new solo driver to earn at Stevens? I’m currently in training I want to do at least a year before I go contractor
If a driver doesn't average at least 1k a week as a company, the driver is doing something wrong. With all the add pay for detention, weather, breakdown, layover, loss of revenue, etc, there is absolutely no good reason why a driver makes less than that.
2000 miles times $0.50 a mile is $1000 plus average of say...... $40-80 dollars detention. (Waiting at a shipper or receiver for more than 2 hrs) $100-$200 for layover pay (getting to a shipper or receiver way early, with hours ready to roll but having to wait. I.E., a meat load to LA ~1500miles, takes 2.5 days to drive there so you get there on the afternoon of the 3rd, doesn't deliver till the evening of the 4th. Half of day 3 and most/all of day 4 is layover pay, cause you have hours to roll, but no where left to drive.) $35-70 additional stop pay. (My last LA load had 3 deliveries, so extra $70, 35 for each extra dock.) So from those numbers $1175 to $1350 with only 2000 miles. If anything prevents you from driving even 2000 miles, it would have to fall under breakdown (like a flat tire/mechanical issue), weather (like high winds, ice,fog heavy rain, etc), or loss-of-revenue (as in they don't have a load for you after a delivery) If your truck is sitting, through no fault of your own, and you have hours left available to drive, you get paid for sitting. Some of my most enjoyable days are playing Call of Duty while waiting around (like the day and a half in my LA example) and getting paid for it. $750 company pay for the miles, 200 for the sitting pay, that's $950 and we are only 4 days into the week.....
@@fpstrucking Wow thank you so much Papa Smurf I really appreciate the thoughtful response. I’ve been watching your videos for a while now. I started watching your orientation videos and it was really helpful. But that’s good to know I’m with my trainer and we have been sitting at shippers sometimes for 8 hours. I’m hoping soon I’ll be able to learn vector and how to get paid accordingly for situations you mentioned like detention. Hope to meet you in person if the time comes. Be safe out there
Yes. The partnership we had with Lone Star College, was no longer mutually beneficial for both parties, so currently, the Houston cdl training is not an option. Hopefully in the future we will have cdl training in the Houston area again. If you go to the Dallas school, they will put you up in the motel that is exclusively Stevens Transport students, trainees, and drivers.
Like a 6 digit code? I know with the pilot app, you enter the 6 digit code the app gives you on the pump itself. But I'm not sure that's what you are referring to.....
O...also, with loves you have to use that card inside/physically inserted into the pump first, before it will allow it to be used by mobile pay. It's a saftey issue.
Hey bro, just graduated grad class and its my first week solo OTR. So far ive been dispatched on 2 late loads and communication has been horrible. I havent even talked to my DM yet cause hes been out of the office. Any advice bro?
@snookking89 while I appreciate it, I've done very well here. Definitely very limited problems in almost 3 yrs with Stevens. I'm sorry of your experience wasn't the same as mine, but overall, I have no major complaints.
@@fpstrucking agree some drivers had good times mine was a nightmare from training till I went solo left month after you went solo all good stay safe driver
Sorry to hear, being dispatch led on late loads is no big deal, as we are not held to deliver them on time, so no big deal there. As for DM, that's unfortunate but any other DM should be able to help. Who are you needing to get ahold of communication wise/what hasn't been communicated?
You could do one video of them combined! 30 lbs? Wowza! That is amazing! I lost 26 on the Pinhoti. Haven't gained any back. Hoping to loose another whatever on BMT this fall!
Have you heard of the missing person Kenny Veach and the M Caves near Vegas? He just disappeared, vanished. There's tons of RU-vid videos on it. Nice hike.
I just look up the "wikapedia" version, and it is very intriguing.....like, I want to go searching intriguing.....so you have definitely helped me find my next rabbit hole to listen to as i drive! Thankyou!
At first I thought i clicked on your original hiking this trail video. Beautiful barren landscape. Next time I'm passing thru there, imma hike that hill myself. Send you the proof 👍
I appreciate it! The only problem with 5 mil, is much less personal interaction. I'm not saying if I had it I would appreciate it as well, but I'm happy where I am at, where I can easily interact with my viewers on a more individual level. But def appreciate the gas man!
Sorry about the canyon, though it was still a beautiful drive and scenery. Hope the people involved on Route 60 are ok🙏 Hey, where are those push ups!?😃 Good work anyway, keep pushing🛻🥾💪
I think YT is shadow banning you or whatever they call it...16 views but 2 likes? Also, if you want more viewers, try going to vertical for a while. I prefer whole screen, but I've heard that people who have recorded vertically increased their viewership. Good job on the mileage today. You are funny!!
Hey Papa Smurf, I have Been watching your vids since your start in trucking, love your content! I just left my job as a medical professional to pursue trucking, I’d love to pick your brain if I could! What’s a good way to reach you?
