Anyone here in 2024? Urgent question: Is it possible to connect iRig Pro Duo directly to the mixer instead of two mics/mic and instrument? I need to record a music videos with 3 or 4 instruments and voices…
Röde should definitely watch this. I’ve also the same problem with high level of white noise on this allegedly low noise mic. I’ll try this before I return it under warranty!
Thanks for this video! I have a question: do you still recomend the VMS One preamp? I don’t know if buy it or wait to buy a UA SOLO 610, ISA One or WA-73. I have also RME Fireface UCX and GAP COMP-2a (LA-2a compressor style). Thanks for your opinion 😊☺️
See this is why things and definitions get messed up and passed down wrongly. Just cause it sound way cooler don't mean it's right. Stop using wrong definitions. Stems are what True Sounds said, and Multitracks are what he said too. Thank you for the truth and this video may you be blessed. 👍 Please let them know what "SUMMING" is too. What's the mixing board behind you, if you don't mind me asking please.
great series and thnx, the bass traps were my 'aha' bit.. so where do you put a mandatory subwoofer(s) capable of 5 to 30 Hz ( ideal if serious about audio)? and do you recommend any links to setting up a smallish room such as your example here and what low bass frequencies are effectively able to be achieved in such a room with your bass traps? thnx true sound studios 😊
It's very interesting! But, yeah getting signal out of the mixer... And those VU meter units have screw connectors, I'm not sure if have thru signal? (edit: I found better picture - no thru signal) These units are freakin depth, in terms of dimension, that's unconvienient too.
Would it make much of a difference if you used something like owens 703 vs the R13? Never heard of using insulation with a R rating in acoustic applications. No acoustic expert here lol.
Hey mate, I have a GL4-40. Its almost the exact same desk as yours! I'm gonna do a big mod soon myself. Im gonna turn it into a 24ch and build it into a new housing/frame like you did. I just have 2 questions... 1. Did your console continue to work well after the modification? 2. Will I need to modify the power supply because there will be less channels? (like will my current power supply be too much power for 24ch?)
Great video, enough explanation without unnecessary or repeated information " Detailed and informative in the most possible short time" . thank you for such quality !
Incredible ordeal and incredible story. Honestly you had me hanging on every word as if I were watching a movie. I'm so glad everything worked out for you.
1. Great hack 2. Using it for a long time! 3. I see some use for it, although I have some have duty mic stands I use 4. Those things are very handy! 5. No matter what adapter, buy them. You will eventually need them! :) I have a mic bag full of them. Instead of an SM58, they are filled with every adapter you can think of! 6. Weights use for fitness are not very expensive but really help create are very heavy base 7. Mic to video adapters! Also very handy and are in my adapter bag :) 8. I use my broken stands for that! lol! Thanks for the video!
Good vid and to the point. Also, afaik you can save individual instrument tracks similar to "stems" as far as them not being raw since each has whatever effects and eq etc you added to them. This would mainly be so levels can be adjusted for mastering, while retaining each track as you want them, as opposed to the raw files, or stems of grouped instruments. A sound engineer could eq or even add minor fx to each of these too if needed giving more control over it than full stem mastering. Master effects might not be included typically but you could apply that to each "stem" type track i suppose, though i'm not sure if the latter would overblow the master effects i.e. over duplication of an effect.
was thinking of picking this one up but have to say after your video I think im going to hold off, didn't think it was all that great, i feel like it would really be a use case not an all-a-rounder like i thought.
