I miss my school!!! Class of 07 GHOSTSSSSSSS SOFTBALL DANCE JUMPSTART!! Stand up!!! 07!!! Where mr Scott amd miss Carraboli? The PE teacher with the tattooed eyebrows and where is the other PE teacher ms colon that was butch!! But soooo cool!!!
It looks like they took out the iconic schoolhouse globe lamps that were in the halls when "Lean On Me" was filmed. They replaced them with ordinary fluorescent fixtures. I love those old schoolhouse globe lamps. They are very iconic and, they should have kept them. This day and time, they could put LED bulbs in them, and they'd be even more energy efficient than the fluorescent fixtures. The schoolhouse globe lamps went very nicely with the arches and carvings in the hallways. Eastside High is a beautiful old school building that was completed in 1926, and has lots of character. I don't ever want to see it get back hoed!!!!

How was it for you living in the shadow of the film, "Lean on Me"? Was the atmosphere plagued by the thought that the world is watching Eastside High? Did the faculty and staff use the film as an advertisement for success? And did it work for you?
akilla214u2c LoL. Well...Lean on me was an 1989 film. I was in eastside from 2000-2003. But parts of the movie did not shown alot of scenes from the school The teachers I knew were not in the films. It was less graffiti but still alot of violence. I had my ups and downs. But the movie was a success.
Animixx101 - Anime and Food Challenges I can tell you the east side message passed to my high school principal and his role in DC, during my time 1994. Thanks Joe Clark and Eastside high.
All Paterson schools are shitholes There is no actual learning taking place there by these rotten kids. Look at the performance reports & the test scores. They're all stupid & illiterate. The school buildings are in rotten shape, the teachers suck, the textbooks are outdated, it stinks, and they are unsafe. I unfortunately went to one of them,& remember seeing the "bathrooms" torn apart, shit in the urinals & on the walls & ceilings. These schools are among the country's worst & are training & breeding grounds for future criminals.
I go to a school called Panther Academy and I also go to Eastside for Jrotc my school has a graduation rate of 95% and is a New Jersey winner for one of the best high schools here so I have no idea what your talking about kid
And also we don't use "outdated text books" but we do have a chrombook for EVERY STUDENT to use in each class and please tell me what school you went to that had shit on the wall
As a fan of the movie, "Lean on Me" as a high school and college graduate, even as a Afghanistan veteran of the United States Marine Corps I must admit, I'm proud of what this school has accomplished. Though I went to High School in Florida I myself came from a tough school that really cracked down on a lot of things and I must say East Side, good job.
Not really I'am going to start going yea it has a bad rep,but if you don't have problems with anyone it is a good school for my opinion i think it is a great school.
East side was no joke in the 80s thats why i went to Kennedy and found out it was even worse then ole E.. But it has come a long way and is a much better place to learn now.
@DynomyteFilms i didnt say anything about the students.. im sure they are great students.. i said "too bad Paterson is becoming worse and worse :/" crime-wise..
I am Eastside High School too! Some of the best years and events in my life took place at Eastside High School. All our students have potential to achieve their God Given POTENTIAL! We were famous before the infamous Joe Clark and "Lean on Me" took center stage. What can be done throughout the country is to afford inner city children all over American a true Opportunity to LEARN! Remove the status quo barriers and we face our obstacles HEAD ON! It's so hard to be a Mighty Ghost!
