Jimmy Chamberlin in the same emotional space with Billy Corgan was meant to be in the parallel musical universe with Mozart, Bach, ZORN, Zappa, and ultimately better than Tool and anyone that came after them.
My name is RU-vidUser and I'm a big fan of Billy Corgan's. And I'm going to lie and say this is a great version of a Bee Gees classic song. Because I love Billy Corgan I'm going to lie. And when Billy Corgan reads the comments he'll think he did a real good version of the song, when in fact it was a piece of shit. And Billy Corgan will continue to sing off key and to play the wrong chords and deviate so much from the original that you can't even tell what song it is that he is singing. And most RU-vid comments will praise this performance because RU-vid is a place where sheep congregate. They all march to the beat of a same drummer. They can't think for themselves. This is one Billy Corgan video but it is a microcosm of RU-vid, the way people think, the way people are encouraged to think.
There's an audio recording of them playing this song in 1990. Being that they later toured together with Nirvana and were in the same club circuit...I'd say there are chances that this earwormed into Kurt's brain before he wrote SLTS.
That live guitar tone is killer. Better than on the album, I think. Perfect blend of fuzz and clean tone. Not too fuzzy and compressed and keeps that clean tone. So good.
Billy, you're a fucking genius beyond compare. But please get good psychological help and quit being the tunnel at the end of the light. Be quiet, shut up, listen and absorb and learn how to get your mind off yourself and how cheated you feel. Your arrogance and self absorption did it all
