Hey! It’s a mixed bag to explore on skates, around the edge of city close to the water is really nice , smooth and flat which is perfect for skating. Once you go inwards though it definitely becomes more of a challenge , lots of cobbles and steep hills. We didn’t make it over to the Asia side but I hear it’s a lot more consistent with flat smooth concrete everywhere. It’s worth visit for sure and would definitely recommend taking your skates 🙌
Yooo Man! Hell yeah you should definitely get back into it. Recommend getting some big wheels to cruise about on too, it’s a totally different experience on skates. It’s a great feeling just cruising around and getting some speed up 👊
@@SiCoburn Thanks, the hydrogens seem to be the best wheels out there for sure. Just bought the FR Urban Speed wheels based off a Leon Basin recommendation, lets see how they hold up in a damp Dutch winter haha.
Dont get me wrong. I loved the skating clips around the city but that ~2 min segment with the raccoons was worth every second. I had a memorable time skating with you, ila and stephen!! Come visit us in LA soon! Not as cute but we have our share of wild life on the streets out here too (....cockroaches).🤣
Thanks man, yeah we were loving the raccoons for sure! I miss them haha. Got some love for cockroaches too 😂 so any excuse to go to LA sounds good to me! Let’s make it happen next year
That’s amazing to hear you want to get back into skating! Good question though. Both skates have their advantages. I would say the Lightning is more for just cruising around as such, it’s light , the plastic is a bit softer and quick and easy to take on and off. The Twister is built a little more sturdy and I feel can take a bit of a beating so it’s better for jumping around whether it’s in the streets or in a skatepark and it’s great for just cruising on. I am a big fan of air vents on the Lightning though, they help keep air flow through your liner to keep you feet cool
Quick one to mention! I would ideally go with the Twister XT though as it’s a slightly wider boot compared to the Twister edge X. I would suggest trying a pair on before you buy if you are able to
I am a massive fan of the Twister skater, it’s still my favourite Rollerblade model . I have been quite enjoying my Lightning’s though, they have been holding up really well ❤
Hey man they would fit really well, I’ve been using them for a few weeks now and they have been feeling really good. Definitely add an extra comfort to your skates and would fit great in the RB80
Hi Si, first of all I love this format of review etc. keep it going. ❤ Secondly a question, is the twister shell sizing comparable with the lightning? Aside that the lightning is a little wider fit.
Thanks for the nice words about the video, I’m glad you enjoyed it! Boot size is always a tricky one to answer because everyone has different size and shaped feet. I personally find the Twister XT wider than the Lightning , on the side of the boot anyway but I feel the Lightning has more room around the toe area. I have quite a wide foot on the side though! Best bet would be to try before you buy if that’s an option
How does the Nomad liner feel vs. the stock Twister liner. I know the stock liner has that thick plastic piece on the toungue that helps with comfort. The Nomad doesn't seem to have that.
Hey! So I’m a fan of both the stock Twister liner and the Nomad. The nomad does have a stiff tounge, not quite as solid as the twister one but it still gives you that locked in feel that the twister liner gives you. I would say the twister liner is a lot more padded out compared to the nomad. Nomad feels more breathable. Both are super comfy though. Thing I like with the nomad is that it’s compatible with other skates
I just bought some GAWDS Atons (3 wheels) over the lightning 110 by rollerblade because of the frame length 255mm(RB) VS 270mm (GAWDS) and also because it seems to me that the GAWDS boots are lower to the wheel making you stand less tall. I know this video is not the 110 wheel height but I feel that somehow Rollerblade still has some obvious growth in design.
Just ordered them to start skating again after 20 years hiatus. First I bought FR3, but they were too narrow for my wide feet, then I wanted to go for RB 80 but the design of the Lightning 90s is great and the memory buckles also seem nice to have. Now I hope they'll fit, since they have a delivery time of 2 weeks. Can't wait to start skating (or eating dirt)
@@ljhooka3735 Not as wide as the RB80/Cruiser and toe box is also more narrow than I thought, but they definitely feel better than the FR3. The memory buckles are also great. Now I'm thinking of either sizing up, since despite my 279mm, the size 43/44 liner (recommended up to 285mm) is pretty tight on my toes and foot width is still not optimal, or I'll go for the RB 80
