i honestly wish this 2 parter had the Ood in it like imagine this as a cold open - Icey mountains and snowy plains slowly reveal the Ood city on the Ood sphere last scene in the end of time inside its caves a collective of ood gather in a cicle over a fire lead by the elder ood while odd sigma watches over them. They all go in to a trance viewing a visions of the Doctor Ruby and the tardis slowly more images come to them the mysterious women scattered throughout time and that night on Ruby road. Suddenly the vison becoming more intense as a dark shadow makes itself known the ood shake uncomfortably in their trance as the vison shows the tardis more and more every place it has landed while a dark cloud envelops it all the while growing lounder a maniacal voice laughs visons of the oods red eyes manifest stacking over each other 3 times over the maniacal laugh while the final image forms of the Tardis n a Dark cloud while 6 giant red eyes glare behind it. the Vison cuts with the elder odd being launched backwards turning to dust at the feat of Ood sigma while the maniacal voice laughs [Cuts to doctor who theme]
I like to think that Sutekh actually got on the TARDIS in Wild Blue Yonder. When he got on, he wasnt evolved yet so he seduced the TARDIS to let him go on a past version of it (The one after the 4th Doctor trapped him). This is why the TARDIS landed in 1666 next to Isaac Newton, it was trying to get to 1911 but it was a little bit broken at the time. I also like to think that it landed at 1666 to symbolize of Sutekhs coming because of the "666". But hey thats just a headcanon
Since when did mythology suddenly get proven real in this series? The Toymaker is a powerful entity but the show disproved multiple religions (as far as the canon of the show goes) as being related to some alien entities. Now there's a full on Egyptian God here? And I thought Anubis was the God of the Dead, not Set? Set is the God of Chaos. He can't just steal the big jackal's job like that.
@@danielcrafter9349 Depending on how you look at it, there isn't really one. I believe Anubis is the God of both, however. From what I recall, Set was trying to usurp Osiris. He didn't have anything to with the dead or death, except for trying to make one God dead.
What would be interesting is if Sutekh had 'changed' over time. Instead of being a god of death and merely destroying the entire universe, Sutekh has another set of roles: 1) every pantheon needs a destroyer god, one that is only let out in case of emergency. This is what Sutekh likely had as its 'Mandate'. Unfortunately with the other Osirons gone there are now no limits on Sutekh. 2) Every destroyer god eventually reaches the end on the universe where everything is winding down. The destroyer god's purpose is to clean up the last bits so the entire universe is dead (or part of the pantheon), ensuring that no others remain. The final destroyer god then destroys itself, sacrificing itself to bring forth a new universe that is closer aligned with the winning pantheon. imagine a Sutekh that had participated in 'Army of Ghosts' and 'Doomsday', but preventing the Cybermen from actually killing people and instead diverting the Cybermen to recruiting from retirement homes and the terminal patients' ward in hospitals. But when the actual fight comes, Sutekh stands aside from the battle as humans must decide their own future. Instead Sutekh is just a destroyer, like a child with a little bit of cleverness and unlimited power.
Harriet arbinger🤣🤣🤣🤣 What the actual crap, there must be context i dont get but that is the stupidest and funniest reveal ive ever seen Thats like the alucard is actually dracula 😱 my lord, who could’ve guessed this Thats so bad 🤣🤣🤣 It’s legitimately like one of those fake names middle schoolers make Oh my, that brought a tear to my eye 😅
Harriet Arbinger being an anagram of Harbinger is honestly one of the worst plot twists I think I've ever seen. Me and my friends were dying from laughter due to it
Should have had Harriet and others saying her last name was 'Arby', as her real last name is silly. You don't find out about 'Arbinger' until much later.
Sutekh is like Morgoth, in the sense that he seeks the death of all life. The Master is more like Sauron, seeking domination of all life, which makes much more sense.
@@elizawulf8180 Time Lords: Ainur / Elves. Doctor: Manwe / Gandalf Master: Sauron / Saruman (bit more successful than both) Davros / Sutekh / Beast: Morgoth PS: I always equated Orcs and Uruk-Hai with Daleks and I LOVE your equivocation of the Great Intelligence with Shelob. I’d add Ungoliant to that comparison, together obviously with the Great One and the Empress of Racnoss.
with the little I know about Doctor Who, I have NEVER seen The Doctor so utterly TERRIFIED of anyone. That is one hell of a way to introduce how truly powerful and dangerous Sutekh, the God of Death, truly is
He looked more terrified in "School Reunion", when he was about to understand what the Krilitanes are about to do. If they would have succeeded, they would have become the most powerful God like creatures. No other Gods, only the Krilitanes as new gods who contro "everything". I guess even Russell forgot about that. The universal code is a bit more dangerous, if you ask me!
@@Preceyese-Seyeght exactly why I say this. This is a PERFECT godlike villain introduction. Showing you why they are to be feared by making the MC powerless or terrified when they finally show themselves
Let's imagine the scene if Elisabeth Sladen was still here. Sutekh reveals himself, laughing as he clutches the TARDIS. Kate Lethbridge-Stewart motions to everyone. "Get back! Everyone, get back!" But Sarah stands tranfixed. Her eyes widen as she begins to shake uncontrollably, unable to breathe. Images from the past..... Marcus Scarman, servant of Sutekh. Lawrence Scarman, his brother who couldn’t understand what happened to Marcus and was killed for it. The vision of an alternative 1980 on a blasted Earth circling a dead sun. Sutekh lowers his gaze to Sarah Jane Smith. "We meet again, my child. This time you and every other insignificant life form will kneel, grovel, and ABASE yourselves before me!" His inhuman laughter echoes in the room. Sarah, openly sobbing, clutches her head as she slowly sinks to her knees. She screams, "DOCTOR!! YOU SAID HE WAS DEAD!!!"
It works up to 2:37. The worst bit is when Harbinger is going through Sutekh's names, it is too up beat for that, and to be honest him saying it was the wrong anagram shouldn't have any music behind it. It does begin to work again though from probable trap onwards. Interesting video. When I saw the title I thought it would be an awful fit all around but it works well for some moments, dare I say even better for some like Ruby's mother.
It works great when they go through that, especially when they go through the Gods, I don't know if you were around when Nuwho first came on the telly, but this theme was used at several high stake moments, especially in series 3 and that was bomb!
I would admit I was expecting cloisters in the episode, it's would be better with the groaning and the cloisters together.. now that's thought make it more feel like end of the universe..
Yeah, what a strange, strange "coincidence" ?? I don't think so. Maybe Russell T. Davies made this scene so long, cause it fits cause of the title of the score and overall too??
Excellent job, the music is timed near flawlessly with the scene! I've missed the bombastic exciting music doctor who had. Like the one for this scene fit it fine, but I could not for the life of me remember it. This is so much more impactful and tense in my opinion. And I was sad not to hear the cloister bell, the tardis and the universe is in danger, I'm sure its dangerous enough to ring it!
The thing with the music used in that scene for me is that it distracted me from what's happening because it was coded in my head as the Master's theme.
