I‘m German and I’m so impressed by your german accent! It sounds like you’re actually fluent in German. It’s rare that you see Americans do our accent so accurately. I feel like I’m back at school during Latin lesson where we would read Latin texts and sound pretty much like you do as the interviewer in this video (at least in the first couple of years of learning Latin. When we learned more about poetry we had to pay closer attention to our pronunciation). This video made me so excited. 😆 love it
I don't understand a thing, but I'm currently learning, so as time goes on I hope to understand more and more. Keep it up, it's fascinating to hear it spoken out like that.
Optimē! Pervolvō in solō rīdēns 🤣 🎶 We don't need no Ed-ju-cay-shun. We don't need no THOUGHT CONTROL. No dark sarcasm In the classroom. HEY! 🎶 TEACHER! Leave them kids alone.
Mix Spanish with Italian and you get Latin…I speak both as native and I was following at all times the context of the conversation and about 80% if what they said
I think he has a very thick modern Italian accent. - Latin definitely sounded different back 1000-2000 years ago. The way he speaks sounds very much like nowadays Italian.
Hmm wouldn’t the words be from the Iron Age, after the Bronze Age? My understanding is that the Bronze Age ends with the sea peoples and then the Iron Age starts and both Homer and the war he writes about I believe happened in that Greek dark age after the Bronze Age collapse? Could be wrong though
"Davus sacculum suum in mensa ponit " why isn't it "in mensam", since putting the bag onto the tale shoes motion, -- "ambulat in silva" vs "ambulat in silvam"
Potrebbe specificare quali parole?
I’m conversational in Spanish and it’s so fun to see the little bits of Latin that remain in that language as I watch and listen to you speaking such an ancient tongue. Is so cool how regional dialects evolve into completely distinct languages.
Thank you so much, Luke! You are one of the best Latin teachers on RU-vid. ¡Muchas gracias, Luke!
