Excellent work and thanks for the videos. I am new to learning this myself, and always thought it would be mostly done using an airbrush. Is brushing the way to go in the long run other than for priming whole figures maybe?
Yeah I would say so especially if you're new to paining. My view is if you learn to paint using brushes then you'll be able to paint anything as you haven't limited yourself. Brushing by hand is a lot more versatile as there are loads of different techniques you can use. In truth even painters that primarilly use an airbrush still have to come in and do all the small details by hand with a brush anyway. Thanks for watching 🙏🙏
I’d suggest you try the sphere contact point for Medium type supports as it’s far less likely to create divots you need to fill and subsequently sand; sand just once I say ;) Btw, love the sanding disc hack! Going to have to try that. That primer you used appears to self-level great Are you scaling the models or is this at 100% scale?
@@ihsonz Once the pastel is on it's not coming off as it sticks to the model so you can wait until the model is completely finished before sealing or even leave it unvarnished if you prefer the more matt finish which I tend to do these days.
Hmmm. I'm amazed, educated, and jealous all at the same time! Thanks for the video and the amount of detail you explain clearly. Will be watching this many more times.
Very nice calm video, I am new to this business, and thank you very much for commenting and voicing your actions. I can write one, we are waiting for your other new works. Thank you
You need to go for a resin printer not FDM to get the detail and then something around 8k in resolution (any more than that doesn't really make a difference) and then you want to consider the size of the print volume to make sure it can print the size you need. I use an Elegoo Saturn 2 printer for all my statues.
Thanks - I'm slowly getting better at editing! I picked those brushes up from the UK Games Expo from a stall that was selling all different types of brushes. They have Model Painter written on the side of them but other than that I don't know who makes them.
David mi amigoooo! Dammmm! ❤ Thank you so much for this, e simpresionante what you have achieved, we love the effect of the eyes!!!! ❤ well done, it will be a great help for the community.
@@NeroxEditz I used about half a dozen different browns to get the finished result on each cloak. The vid covers each stage but if you didn't catch any of the names just let me know at which point in the video you need the name for. 👍
Love your work man, really inspiring and helpful! a video where you go more into drybrushing would be amazing, like how you load etc because your end look is phenomenal!
@@alejandrollauro thank you so much for the kind words 🙏 great idea I'll try and do a more detailed vid on dry brushing in the future as it's a technique that's simple to learn but results can vary a lot depending how you do it 🙂
I think evil lynn, awesome work. I torn between this skeletor and another I’ve got which is more realistic and the base is incredible it’s got heman on battlecat going upto castle grey scull. And he’s towering above
I miss when star wars had this cool of stuff. I bought one of these in 1999 maybe 2000 at dollar general for 10 bucks. I regret losing it. Good find gg
Yeah totaly if a kit this big came out now it would cost a fortune. I don't think they are too rare but prices seem all over the place so recommend keepig an eye on ebay and snag one at a good price if you can.
@@daydreamerdesigns3D I was talking to my wife about it and she wants me to find one so I'm gonna watch eBay and some other sites and see what I can find. Lol
I like that you show the name and number of the paints, so anyone who wants can replicate it at home, just a tip, could you list all the paints used in the video, this way it would be easier to buy the correct color, it avoids us having to pause and try to see the number them kkk, but your videos are great.
Love the video but Trapjaw wasn't alone in the fight with He-Man, Battle Cat and Man-at-Arms. He has Beast Man. Why isn't he added to the roster? I love your videos though. Please do more MOTU. 😊
Although I have made a Beast Man he's a little on the small side compared to these guys - so still waiting on a suitable good Beast Man design to come out. Thanks for the support 😀
Hi, did you have many failed prints using Star Wars 3d? the printer I'm using is the Anycubic 3DS Max, so plenty of build space, but every print except the boots have failed, the supports don't seem to do their job, I just wondered if you encountered this?
@@dan11596Hi, so I never use presupported parts I always support them myself. Individual printer settings, brand of resin, temperature of surrounding environment etc. can all affect the print so what works for one printer might not for another. Have a go at supporting the parts yourself and you will likely get better results 👍
