You and Prather have the most satisfying ball releases on the tour. Just always so smooth. Maybe it's just my boomer take in the sea of two-handers modern bowling has become.
Definitely one of the highest quality live bowling streams I've seen outside of professional televised setups....the only critique was the audio..the system cutting in and out the natural background noise when Jesse stops talking also if Darren or Lance doesn't talk when they approach sometimes you won't hear the ball being thrown or pins getting hit
Just switched to 2 handed from previously being a 1 hander. Darren, since youve been doing 2 hands for league, is the lightning blackout or ion pro ideal for burnt up league lanes?
I hope not, tried string bowling once, dislike. Unrealistic pin action, especially when a pin flies across and comes nowhere near hitting another, but the string does and knocks it down. Only thing string pins are good for is maybe beginners, kids and physically disabled where they can’t do a proper approach.
hi darren i am a bowler in the chicagoland suburbs of mount prospect ,il and i also have the favorite ball of all time is the storm alpha crux as well tom
I will admit, my response was in poor taste. Will not deny that. I’m not perfect by any means. I’m out there living my dream, working through the ups and downs. So for someone to come in and trash me for the year I’ve had without knowing what goes on behind the scenes is a bit aggravating. It doesn’t justify my response, but again, you don’t know what goes on in my life, nor anyone else’s that you don’t know. And sometimes if you dish it, I’m going to dish it back 🤷🏻♂️
Keep doin you brotha, your yearly income realistically is no one else’s business. Side note, I’m still wanting a 1v1 challenge next time I’m in Vegas or if you can come to California 😋 Much love guys 🤘
The thing is Darren, and I was explaining this to my wife as we were driving to our Sunday night Vegas league, I don't think the guy meant his comment in a bad way. I think he meant it more as this. As good as you are, and you are very good, bowling is a very very hard sport to make money in and the fact that you can be a top 20 PBA pro and still only make $300 K in 9 years? There might be other avenues for you. No one denies you are a very VERY good bowler. It is more about the state of bowling as a whole. At least that was how I took his comment.
@@matttf2538 I agree, as much as i myself love bowling, if you're not like Belmo or Ej winning titles, it's a very hard sport to make money. I think a good example of where bowling as a pro doesn't really cut it any more is when Mike Fagan (one of my favorite bowlers) left at the right time to pursue his MBA.
Darren, the Beef and Barnzy Tier Ball list was only provided by Beef Stu since Chris was out of town for bowling that week. It was a good list, but he hadn't thrown a few of the balls, so he was unable to comment. - i finished the season with a 200 avg this season. - let down balls. No real let down ball for me, but the Duo and Hustle M-M are very situational. They roll good when the lane is ready for it. - 1:21:16 Lance made my day with his ball rack curl.
I wonder if Lance is going to want the x cell since he loooooves the nuclear cell? Im in the same boat myself, but balls are expensive, haha, but i might break down and get the x cell.
Damn i wish i would have caught this live. It seems like a good time talking to jesse. This man brings the best content for darren salute to you, jesse.
@@jakeh5220 from what I read in the rules it looks like you have to ask and get special permission to do so. And Darren seems to do it all the time. Just an opinion it seems like he gets special treatment. The leagues I’m in you can’t practice before hand as the lanes are being fresh oiled except for the 10 minutes after oiling. I’d say he gets a pretty solid advantage being able to practice as much as he wants before he starts his sets.
I feel like a benchmark ball is a ball in the middle of the bag that is predictable and allows you to get a good read on the lanes. Almost every style really likes the Attention Star, but I wouldn't consider that benchmark.
A couple of things. Darrens comment about making more money than the commentor was completely uncalled for and laughable since he makes almost no money on the PBA tour. Second, if I am his opponent this week I am not happy. You can't bowl 2 handed and get a 17 pin or whatever it is handicap and then switch to one handed and bowl scratch. Complete bush league stuff. The more I watch Darren the more he seems like a shady guy.
Darren Tang on the PBA tour has made a grand total of $299 k in the past 9 years. That is around $33 K a year. And he has to pay for his own travel, expenses, entry fees etc. He is lucky if he is barely breaking even. Yes he makes a little more via youtube and a few sponsorships, but in no way should he make a comment like "I probably make more money than you do" when the average $20 an hour fast food worker in CA makes more than he does. I mean, I have no idea how much the the guy makes who Darren responded to with that comment, but odds are he has made more than $299 K the past 9 years. Hell I make mid 6 to low 7 figures a year just day trading. Poor comment by Darren and comments like that are what turn people off.
Not condoning the comment, but you are far underestimating his yearing earnings. PBA Tour season is four months. He's bowling tournaments the rest of the year where it's far easier to cash against lesser competition. He's also making good money from this channel based on his subscriber and view counts.
@@jakeh5220 Agree on the rest of the year tournaments and as someone who bowls on the west coast in a lot of those....you can make money. But not a lot. Again when you add in travel and entry fees, bowling is a very VERY poor paying sport. The camera guy was right in that you do it more for the love of bowling rather than making any real money unless you are a top 5 PBA bowler like a Tackett, Simo, or Belmo. As for his youtube, and this is not counting merch sales, but strictly based on views and having experience in this, he maybbbbeee makes $10 K a year from that.
BTW what happened to bowling 2 handed all year? In any league I have been in if you switch from left to right handed or 1 to 2 handed during the season then the alley gives you different handicaps for each shot. You can't bowl 2 handed and average 155 and then go back to your old 1 handed style and average 210 and have it counted the same as far as team handicap. Not a good look on Darren's part.
@@matttf2538I would be hard pressed to find a RU-vid channel that has this level of production, a team of 6, uploads twice a week, and only makes 10k a year. You said it yourself, Darren doesn’t make much money from bowling? How could we possibly afford $30k+ in equipment alone 😂
@@matttf2538 USBC rule allows a bowler to switch between one-hand and two-hand without establishing a new average as long as the same hand is entering the ball. He is still technically bowling right-handed so he keeps the same average.
Cool video talk tech bowling league how did you bowl all 4 bowling games series scores Darren tang and how did you bowl all 4 bowling games series scores lance and did your bowling league team win all 4 bowling games
Darren, if you need to play an area that will upset other bowlers on the PBA tourney, do you or find something else to work. Walter and Norm played where they wanted to. This is your living. 🙂
I'll Def let Darren answer as for me I don't run into this problem as a lefty but during most tournaments u move pairs after each game so it's a double edged sword cuz u need to break a lane down especially on sport oil n if ur on ur own line with let say urethane ur counter acting breaking it down but as u said it's ur lively hood so if u got a line play it
