Good to know you're interested in learning Tai language. From what link you got the lyric. I found some spelling errors there.Tell me the words you understand from the lyrics and I'll make a post to explain the meaning of it when I have time. Can I know your name and where you from?

i always hear the word မၢၵ်ႇၵူဝ်ၸႂ်in the tai songs,so it means heart break in songs right?and i ve been checking the dictionary find that မၢၵ်ႇmeans fruit,does it have any other meanings?
Interesting as speaker of both Lao and Thai, I thought I'd be able to understand Tai Yai more but I guess its a bit harder than that, but it similar enough to guess, But Grey being Si Kuan Fai is quite amusing lol
Thank you. The reason we say ( သီၵႂၼ်းၾႆး - si kuan fai ) for grey is that we Thai-yai see that as colour of smoke. ( Si = colour, kuan fai = smoke, si kuan fai = smoke colour ) 🙂
@@SpeakTai I believe for both Thai and Laos its 'si thao' for grey but I very much understood si kuan fai as being fire smoke colour(aka grey colour) :D, a thai and a laos person would definitely know what colour you meant when you say that
If we translate it directly from the English words, we have to say - ၸႂ်ဢမ်ႇလီၶႃႈ ၶႃႈတူၵ်းလိုၼ်း ( zau am, li khaa; khaa; tok: lurn: ) But normally we would say - ၶႂၢင်းပၼ်ဢိတ်းၼိုင်ႈၶႃႈ ၶႃႈတူၵ်းလိုၼ်းပႅတ်ႈ။ or we just say - ၶႃႈတူၵ်းလိုၼ်းဢိတ်းၼိုင်ႈယဝ်ႉၶႃႈ။ That means we admit we are late and ask for a pardon. ( ၶႂၢင်းပၼ်ဢိတ်းၼိုင်ႈ = excuse me )
Tai and Thai, some words are the same. Some look different. But still they are similar. When Tai say in "L" consonant, Thai say it in "D". Black - လမ် lam / ดำ dam Good - လီ li / ดี di Star - လၢဝ် lao / ดาว dao Month - လိူၼ် luen / เดือน duen etc.
sir i cannot read shan (yet), so can you please translate these lines in tai (ahom script)? 🙏 If life returns to you, if it reaches you, I don't care what happens to me but not every wish will be fulfilled And if that’s not realized, I shall become you The stars shatter and shine I'll risk my life, I'll give it to you Did you not give me time? If all my desires came true, oh, how I wish I could attain that I want to see you I wish upon the stars
@@SpeakTai it is in english, basically this small poem, if u can translate each line in ahom (preferred) or shan. actually i am working on a project. here are the lines btw If life returns to you, if it reaches you, ah I don't care what happens to me Ah, but not every wish will be fulfilled And if that’s not realized, I shall become you The stars shatter and shine I'll risk my life, I'll give it to you Did you not give me time? If all my desires came true, oh, how I wish I could attain that I want to see you I wish upon the stars

@@SpeakTai i cannot read shan i used a transliteration software but it didn't transliterate properly.. if u could please write in ahom script which i can read
I started learning Ahom recently. In Ahom it's: I - Kau, We-Rau *I have noticed R->H is a common evolution in many Tai languages* Mau - you(singular), Sao - you(plural) It's interesting how what would be both the singular and plural pronoun in Tai Ahom is simply used to mean "I" and "you" in Shan. I guess the difference between Ahom and Shan would be like the difference between Assamese and Bengali.
Good to hear from you. In Shan language "Kao Mau" are singular pronouns for " I and You " using among friends the same age or the older speak to younger one. Not for the youngers talk with the olders. Keep learning and you'll find more interesting differences among different Tai groups.
the two languages are part of the kra-dai languages so they will definitely have differences , but are still similar in some ways, think of it like the latin languages :3
Hello, I appreciate your comment. As for example using other consonants you can watch on this video clip; ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Pfhcv5tI-5g.html There are many other lessons you can learn from Writing practice playlist. Thank you ၶွပ်ႈၸႂ်ၶႃႈ 🙂
In writing and reading they are the same. But when we speak, it is a bit different in some words. We can say we speak in different accents. So far as I know Tai Ahom lost their tones which has to be revived.
Good suggestion. I'll surely do it when all writing practice lessons are done. I prefer to post my lessons in series. Please keep following pi nong. မႂ်ႇသုင်ၶႃႈ။
Thanks for your nice lesson! I'd like to ask you as belows. 1. ယိၼ်းၵျေုႇၸႂ်ၼႃႇၶႃႈ -> Coud you explain "ၵျေုႇ"? 2. တၢင်းလိူၵ်ႈတၢင်ႇဢၼ် -> I don't under stand the structure. 3. ၸူမ်းလူင်ၸူမ်းလၢင် -> I don't under stand the structure.
1) ၵျေႃႇ is another word for happy. It is the same to မူၼ်ႈ = ၸူမ်း = သိူဝ်း ။ ၵျေႃႇ = ၵျေႃႇၸႂ် = မူၼ်ႈၸႂ် = သိူဝ်းၸႂ် = happy 2) တၢင်းလိူၵ်ႈတၢင်ႇဢၼ် = other choice တၢင်းလိူၵ်ႈ = choice တၢင်ႇဢၼ် = other 3) ၸူမ်းလူင်ၸူမ်းလၢင် = very happy or so so happy It is one of Tai style of expressions which is different from other languages. Here, ၸူမ်း is happy and လူင် means big or huge. The main word you have to focus is ၸူမ်းလူင် ( ၸူမ်းလၢင် is the word usually follow it.) You can say ၸူမ်းလူင်ယဝ်ႉၶႃႈ။ but not ၸူမ်းလၢင်ယဝ်ႉၶႃႈ။ strange, isn't it?🙂 မႂ်ႇသုင်ၶႃႈ
မႂ်ႇ သုငၶႃႈ Thanks very much for your lessons. They are very helpful! Can you recommend a good Tai Yai keyboard to download? I downloaded one from Keyman, but it comes out like this: ၸုံဝ်ႈဝႃႈႁုံဝ်ၶႃႈ - the ု is not underneath the ႁ - or am I making an error? ၶွပ်ႈၸႂ်ၶႃႈ
