Some people get them for instant gratification and can play with them out of the box. Then buy upgrade parts as they go along with them. I do it bother way. Building them from scratch and upgrade them over time.
@SKHobbiesAZ thank u . I ordered all my parts. Ordered the furitek scythe v2 chassis. Going to use stellar transmission and komodo micro motor. I guess the big komodo won't fit on the v2... I like the look of the big motor;)
The SCX24 is not even close to as good as the Ascent-18 is out of the box. The FCX24s, like the Ascent-18, are really good out of the box. I moved the rx/esc to the front, removed the battery tray and 3D printed a 1965 Ford F100 body to replace that ugly Ascent-18 body. Added different wheels and tires and the Ascent-18 is amazing, but it was amazing out of the box as well. Great value for the price!
I just learned R7FG does not support digital servos (I only learned that from some RadioLink reply on Facebook - that information is nowhere on the product page, nowhere in the manual) honestly I am not sure I would purchase it they were transparent about it and I knew that in advance I have the original E-Revo Brushless TRA5608 still with the stock dual TRA2075 digital servos I just connected the R7FG and all is working but the servos seem kinda slow (but it's a long time I ran my RC car so maybe it's not really different) can this damage my servos not running them in the 3-4ms they are designed for but running them on 14ms instead? I guess I lose some servo speed and resolution at the very least
This is the AZRC Bashers monthly bash, you can find the group on FB. They post the event for the month on the 1st week of the month. The next bash is on the 27th. This is held out in Maricopa,AZ.
Great vid, LOVE the wheel and tires. I have quite a few crawlers at this point and the Ascent 18 is hands down the BEST out of the box mini crawler you can buy. With no mods this thing kills everything stock for stock and even some trucks with mods get schooled by the Ascent 18. All I've done so far is a set of brass wheels and some Injora sticky tires (forget the name at the moment)...SMOKES half of what I have in the garage, most of which is much more modded than the Ascent. BEST $100 you can spend in the crawler world.
Same here. I have 14 1/24 - 1/18 scale crawlers and this think ranks high on the list for performance. out of the box compared to the all the others, hands down beats them all!!! Thanks for watching!
very useful explaining what everything does I bought it a long time ago (end of 2022) and just now installed it (already have all wired up) I was using Spektrum DX3R before and this is actually a copy of that just little worse is few areas and a lot better in many areas ;o] I did not like the 6xAA which made it quite heavy and not easy to charge so I modded it to use two 21700 batteries instead the sanyo eneloop aa I was using before have 2000mah, the 21700 I got are samsung 50e with 4900mah so 2.5 times more capacity and with the 21700 setup it is only 479g compared to 470g of DX3R with 4xAA
@@SKHobbiesAZ yes just some SMD 21700 battery holder and wired it in series and added a JST plug kinda tight but it fits just fine this video was my inspiration, just went dual 21700 instead of triple 18650 for the extra capacity ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--WgJq3lopbU.html
Looks like the mofo bam would have to be mounted rear facing with this chassis? :/ Are you aware of any chassis that can run a front facing motor like the bam or even furitek cedar type motor sizes? Thanks!
Good spot! My sons fam is in Buckeye, he has a couple of 24s and a 18 scale rc4wd we are only into RC since king of the hammers back in Feb and gotta tell you it’s been an amazing hobby. He just needs to find some good spots and some good peeps to hang with hi and the kids. Anyway I’m hooked 😊
The small scale stuff like the 24 and 18 scale are so much fun. Low cost and easy upgrades for them. You can also make small courses in a backyard for them too. Welcome to the hobby.
We had a blast brother! We had a great turnout and love the new track/event builds! The monster jam/ RC21 set performed great! Using the track for Dash4cash, went awesome! We look forward to our season finally!!!
