I had a B200 error on my Canon Pixma MG5350. After trying suggested fixes it changed to a UO52 error. I washed and dried the print head as recommended in other videos, reinstalled it with ink cartridges. The UO52 error still persists. Canon offered me a 20% discount to buy another of their printers. This particular one is out of production and there are no spares. I have lots of unusable replacement ink cartridges. I won't be buying another Canon printer. Thanks for showing your attempt to fix the error.
this really sucks, Im have the same problem with my MG8150 Canon printer. it's 10 years old, so I think I even try to fix it. I'm gonna buy a new one. Which will not be a Canon by the way.
Thank you for posting this video, It stopped me from wasting my money on buying a replacement printhead. In the RU-vid comments, below, John Fourshared Dotcom wrote: 'All Canon printers in that series - MG5150, 5250 and 5350 have a counter built in that makes them FAIL after a certain time - all with either B200 or U052 errors, It's a counter in the firmware - there's no physical problem with the printer.' Personally, I've spent days researching the MG5350 - U052 Error. I've tried ALL the tricks and work arounds, nothing fixes the problem. I won't ever buy a Canon printer again! Canon settled a class action in the USA (see below) Although the model MG5350 isn't in the list the MG5320 is and they are almost identical machines. Canon USA Inc. has agreed to pay $930,000 in order to settle a class action lawsuit over allegations that its inkjet printers contain a print head defect which makes them inoperable. Plaintiffs Sarah Barrett, Michael Robertson and Marcus Ho filed a joint consolidated Canon inkjet printer class action lawsuit in September 2014. The plaintiffs allege the printers suffer from a print head defect that causes them to display the following error message on the display panel of the printers: “UO52 - Print Head Error.” According to the defective printer class action lawsuit, the problem typically occurs once the one-year warranty has expired so Canon refuses to repair or replace the printer for free. However, the plaintiffs allege that repairing the defect costs more than just buying a new printer. The plaintiffs claim that had they known about the defect, they would not have purchased a Canon inkjet printer. Canon continues to deny that there is any defect in the printers or that the plaintiffs have a legitimate legal claim against them. However, the company agreed to settle the class action lawsuit to avoid the expense and uncertainty of continued litigation. The Canon printer defect class action lawsuit was preliminarily approved on June 24, 2015. Class Members include all persons who purchased either (1) in new condition from either Canon USA or one of its authorized printer resellers, or (2) in refurbished condition directly from Canon USA, one or more of the following models of Canon-brand inkjet printers: iP3600, iP4700, iP4820, iP4920, iX6520, iX7000, MG5120, MG5220, MG5320, MG6120, MG6220, MG8120, MG8220, MP500, MP530, MP560, MP600, MP610, MP620, MP640, MP730, MP800, MP960, MP970, MP990, MX700, MX712, MX850, MX860, MX870, MX882, MX892, MX7600, PRO9000MKII, PRO9500MKII Potential Award $50 - $75 Class Members may choose between a cash payment of up to $50 or a voucher valued at up to $75 redeemable at the online Canon store. topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/closed-settlements/170371-canon-inkjet-printer-class-action-settlement/#:~:text=Canon%20USA%20Inc.%20has%20agreed,defect%20which%20makes%20them%20inoperable.&text=The%20Canon%20printer%20defect%20class,approved%20on%20June%2024%2C%202015.
I had the same problem,I took the cartridges out and also the printhead.I cleansed the printhead with a fibercloth with alcohol, put it back with the cartridges, problem solved !...sorry i tell you 2 years later, probably you have a new one now...but i hope i can help others with this comment,God Bless !
I tried to clean my print head. I used water and surgical spirit. I dried it thoroughly with kitchen towel and left it in the airing cupboard to dry. It still doesn't work.
Mine 5250 as well. I've tried everything( unless a new printhead) but nothing helps. I think they are right, this is an programmed error from Canon. Lol.
all Canon printers in that series - MG5150, 5250 and 5350 have a counter built in that makes them FAIL after a certain time - all with either B200 or U052 errors there's nothing actually wrong with the printer, it's just Canon's way of saying "Fuck you" to their customers
There was a class action lawsuit about this: canoninkjetprintersettlement.worldsecuresystems.com/file-a-claim-step-1 Unfortunately too late to file a claim. :( I have an MX892 $500.00 printer. Maybe Epsom from now on!
The same error appeared on my Canon MP640. Yet I didn't trust Canon enough to buy another printing head… It 's typically a trick of "programmed obsolescence" (read "swindle"). Canon support service is just as inefficient in Paris as in Spain or (I guess) anywhere in the world. This is what they call "management". Bon courage, amigo !
