I had the same problem with the air conditioner, I wasn’t as new as yours but 5 years old , still should have not broken! Our guy is working with the company to see if we can get some kind of refund towards our new unit, we were without for 4 days and I was losing my mind.
We are still, today, waiting on this motor to arrive. Apparently, many people are in waiting for motors. Luckily today it’s been cloudy and the temps are down so the house feels just perfect even the master suite is comfortable. But, we may grab a hotel if it’s gets too hot next week. Crossing my fingers the motor will arrive before the weather heats up again.
I loved watching this blog! Before I elaborate, I want to say I'm sorry that you have been dealing with a blown out motor in your two year old unit! I agreed with what you said about how business workers often assume women don't know enough and are easy to dupe. I'm so grateful to have the Internet at my fingertips to learn about anything and everything. I always like hearing about your parenting perspective and I really enjoyed hearing a portion of their Bible study time. I think that not pressuring your children shows such a great measure of respect for them. You are great parents. The rabbits were so fun to watch too! It is neat that your daughter could observe them right at the window. ❤️
@@REEstylesIT My oldest was deathly afraid of spiders, but she's finally reaching a point where she can handle them! I hope your youngest reaches a point where she can handle bugs, they are almost impossible to avoid.
Wow, we have been there before, during the winter 🥶. We were without heat for almost two weeks. Ended up purchasing some electric heaters. These are reminders for us not to take life comforts for granite. Take care ❤
Ok Sis, where do I start…. First, I absolutely LOVE this video topic and you are looking STUNNING ! Without making this comment too lengthy, just know I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND your point! I find myself thinking along those same exact lines. I only own and handful of luxury bags (abt 5) and I still love & enjoy them and have zero regrets about buying them. HOWEVER, I definitely love quality contemporary bags just as much!! (DeMellier, Tory Burch, Coach, Brahmin, Marc Jacobs, Teddy Blake, Banana Republic leather bags, etc.). I simply love beautiful quality things period!
Absolutely! I’m happy to know you feel me on this one. There are so many options out there. I recently saw some bags at Banana Republic that I like too.
I love luxury items, particularly handbags and shoes. I received my first Gucci bag in 1998 my first Louis Vuitton in 2001 (I actually still have and carry it, the Musette), my first Dior in 2002 (still have, don't carry), my first Chanel in 2006 (still have, carry occasionally), and my one and only Hermes (the Evelyne) in 2015. From 1998 on, I would get at least one new handbag per year. But working 100% remote since 2020, my most recent designer handbag purchase, a mini Dior Saddlebag, was in 2002. There is still a particular LV and a jumbo Chanel that I want, though. And I have mentioned to my SAs that save for those bags, I think my designer bag days are over. BUT, not for any other reason than that I'm just not out and about much anymore. That said, I have always purchased (and will continue to purchase) non-designer clutches (or small bags) for specific oufits because they just looked better overall. However, I can admit that a big part of my interest in designer bags (and shoes) is the appeal of "exclusiveness." And that can be attributed to not wanting to be or look like "the masses" is part of my general makeup, with or without luxury items.
Oh wow! Thanks for sharing. You seem to have a really nice collection. You’ll have to definitely share with me some of your non-designer handbags that you find moving forward, especially those of good quality.
Yes, examine why you want luxury and stay within what you can afford. I purchased a Gucci from their boutique more than 10 yrs ago and the handle broke in less than 1week. They fixed it free but afterwards I bought a few bags pre love vintage and the quality is way better.
Great idea if needed, but I was going for a more clean line aesthetic. There are some labels for many of the confusing items underneath the bottom. We can tell what’s in mostly all of the containers and even the kids know.
Aritzia is a nice store, let me check them out. Have you done any updates to your kitchen cabinets, I just love how your items are organized. Enjoy your Sunday ❤
Girl, I vote in every election whether I want either candidate or not. I vote for the one that I think will do the most because I clearly don't want to go back to segregation.
Love your style! And yes, the debate was hard to watch sadly, the choices are not good (old fella vs. old felon) but, I absolutely agree we can’t sit on the sidelines and do nothing, we MUST take a real good look at who are apart of the totality of their surroundings…last time I checked of one particular party, most if not all were indicted. So, the way I see it, the tail usually follows the head. Being old is not a crime but breaking the law and being a liar is. I’m afraid this country is in for a rude awakening though. I’m thankful that God is still on the throne.🙌🏾
Yes I saw the debate and what it reminded of when I've been an interview panelist with employees that I know and there are some B+/A- performing employees that fail on interview and some D-/F performing employees that kill it in interviews, I've never recommended hiring the one with performance issues no matter how great they did. My two cents.
👍I watched the debate with great sadness. It was very hard to watch, but at the end of the day I will be voting. I enjoyed your vlog, I loved the red purse, and I did not have a clue what the washing machine gadget was. I have never worn make-up for that specific reason, I am not willing to take that much time to apply the different products. I love seeing women wear make-up especially, if it's not overdone. When I was your youngest daughter age, I was feeding the cows, taking the slop to the hogs, sewing, quilting and cleaning. My generation was different, I think my grandparents were preparing me for self-perseverance. I know it's a different world now, and perhaps your daughter just wants to be like her big sister, not trying to grow up too fast😊. I loved your outfit of the day; you looked so well put together without even trying. I would definitely keep the brown blazer, but I would get it tailored for a better fit, and since you got it on sale, I think it's a good investment to spend the money to have it altered.😉
I enjoyed your video! I really like the black leather ballet shoes you had stretched. All of your shoes were cute. But the showstopper for me were the metallic ballet flats, like you, I really like metallic! I don't have wide feet, but I still have a hard time with different designers' shoes because my foot is neither narrow nor wide and a lot of times the medium width is just too wide, but they don't come in narrow, if they do, the narrow is just too tight. Any who I'm with you, with the foot not hanging over on shoes, not an attractive look😉
Thanks Sharon! My grandmother had the same issue as you when shopping for her shoes. Her foot was in between narrow and regular width. She passed at age 96 and I kept two pairs of her shoes just for fun. My daughters play around in them sometimes. ☺️
Wow Ree, your hair looks fantastic, you did a great job 👏 Thank you for talking so empathetically about mental illness, it's a subject that's close to my heart too as I grew up with & was a child carer for my mum who had severe mental health issues including paranoia & psychosis. Unfortunately as a result I also have had mental health struggles of the anxiety & depression kind. For 30+ years now. I think there's still a lot of stigma, misunderstanding and fear around mental health issues and I agree that social media definitely isn't helping anyone, as it encourages comparison and feeling less than. It's also harming young people with all the body beautiful stuff and unrealistic standards and is stopping them seeing how beautiful they are without all the fillers and filters.
Oh, I couldn’t agree with you more! I truly worry about these kids nowadays with mobile phones. It’s even affecting adults. I didn’t know your Mum suffered with mental health issues. I’m so sorry to hear that, and I could only imagine what your role was like as you cared for her. I take my hat off to you. You amaze me with your strength and perseverance. 🤎
😭 All I can say in response to your experiences with racism is that I'm sorry!!!! I am white and grew up in the west with a predominantly white people population. I have always loved ALL people and the color of their skin doesn't matter. I was devastated to learn as an adult how rampant racism STILL is! I was horrified to study, in school, the atrocities that happened to blacks (and other groups who were duscriminated against). I read ROOTS and felt as if I was suffering alongside my fellow men, women and children. It was a harsh truth to realize that people haven't learned from the past! 😭 I DO try to show kindness and love to others. Since I've become more aware of what present day black people endure, I absolutely try to show added kindness and support so no one feels threatened in my presence. My next door neighbors are Samoan and I try to be friendly with them, but they usually look away or dont interact. I hope they dont feel like I'm judgemental of them! I'm glad your dad was cared for and that his health crisis resolved so well. Thank you for bringing up important points of discussion and sharing your life with me and others. I've learned so much.
Bridget, let me first say thanks for your kindness. 🤎 You know the saying one bad apple spoils the bunch, right? This is what I believe has become the mindset for many people of color when it comes to engaging with whites. Many of us are quite hesitant, and understably so. However, I do know that there are many loving white people that do still exist. I teach our girls NOT to judge a book by its cover, but to believe what they see after a person reveals their true character.
Hey Ree, I hope you & the family are well- I'm a Leo too & have the same mentality about people that you do. I have always hated & never understood racism/any kind of prejudice, we are all equal & deserving of respect & equality whatever our race, gender or any other protected characteristic. I'm so sorry that you have this 'Karen' to deal with, it would take so much less energy for them to just be decent & I admire you for still trying to interact positively on some level with them. I was recently on a training course where the majority of the people in the room were black and I noticed that they seemed to prefer to stick together which I completely respected, but I made the effort to initiate conversation with them and asked questions about their lives in Africa/generally when they were talking about moving over to and living in the UK. By the end of the two weeks we were all chatting and I like to think that the people in the group felt more comfortable than they might have before, these things really shouldn't matter, but unfortunately they are still an issue. I swore as a teenager that if I ever encountered a racist person, I would make no bones about telling them what I thought of their behaviour & them and if it was someone I knew I might just not talk to them for a while when they came back from holiday with a tan just to make a point. Fortunately I have never had the reason to but there's still time 😉
Hey there! So good to hear from you. I certainly applaud your efforts in initiating conversation. I truly believe in this day and time people of color don’t know what to expect, so we navigate throughout spaces with our guard up. The world certainly needs more people like you who aren’t afraid to stand up against racism.
Make sure you have a door camera for your family's safety, him being a cop. I would just leave them alone, just a waste of your warm & kind energy. I listen to that same podcast, Karen has some good guest wth interesting perspectives. Btw, loving the bangs and ponytail.
I do agree with you, and yes the Karen Hunter show is really informative. Our oldest daughter listens to Dr. Carr with us some Saturdays and throughly enjoys many of the topics.
Yes, that bracelet was David Yurman. Those GG sneakers are crazy expensive, and quite an interesting trend. My daughter said many of her classmates wear them. She told me she didn’t want them because she could just let some of her old shoes get really filthy and never clean them to achieve the same look for way less if she wanted to. However, right now she’s into the all white sneaker trend and prefers her shoes to be squeaky clean. She actually wipes down her shoes each day to keep them looking nice. LOL!!!
This was a very interesting blog. The pole was a great idea, would you care to share where you purchased it? I was born in August too. I'm a persistent Leo. Although I'm in my 60's I can relate to some of your generational concerns. I have been living in my second home now for 25 years, I have a neighbor who has been living here longer than me. The husband-and-wife are white they have never once said hello, waved or even looked in my direction when I drive by. I have another white neighbor who is as friendly as can be. He brings me blackberries every year that he grows them. I do believe your neighbors are envious of your beautiful well-kept home, your well-behaved children, your hard-working husband. I wouldn't worry about it in the least. That is their problem. It's nice to be neighborly but only to the one that deserves it😊
I couldn’t agree with you more! Thanks for sharing a bit of your story with me and letting me know I’m not alone in dealing with this. Also, I’ve linked the curtains and the curtain pole that I purchased in the description box for your convenience.
Oh my! Have I thought of moving, yes, absolutely. My sister-n-law is in the DMV and loves it there. My other sister-n-law is in Atlanta. Although, ATL is still the South each time we go we receive so much love and hospitality, it’s quite refreshing there. May I ask where you’re from and what’s that racial climate like in your city/state?
Girl, people are racist because you are doing better than they are and they are mad because they have accomplished less. I will speak to you twice after that the hell with you. He's a cop that another whole level of problems.
Yes I think it is ingrained in their spirit....I remember working in a rich senior community as a part time GNA and the racism within is so sad because most of the employees (underpaid) are black.
Oh my. Your neighbor sounds like the one in the movie, Karen. That would drive me crazy. Most of the black people in our neighborhood are like that which I find strange. We wave, everyone else waves, but the black people will look the other way, with the exception of the guy on the corner. He's super friendly. My wife is a Leo and she's the same as you. I'm a Pisces and we definitely balance each other.
Leos are ready to throw hands after a few too many times of being mistreated. You can imagine the struggle for me. But, like I said she will NOT have me miss H E A V E N! Imma try to extend kindness if she is willing to receive my loving spirit. However, until she’s ready I’m just ignoring them. Sadly, I don’t think they’ll change. We’ve been neighbors for a long time. I haven’t watched the movie Karen. I think it would really infuriate me, but now you got me curious. So, I may watch. I believe that’s the movie with Cory Hardrict.
Hey Caitlyn I’m not sure of the measurements for a larger iPhone, so I can’t say. However, the slim trunk is quite tiny. It’s more of a statement piece in my opinion. Also, he just restocked his trunks on yesterday if you’re interested. I’m sure they’ll sell out quickly again.
How old is your mom? My mother has always been very active. Sometimes I wish she would actually sit down. She complains of being exhausted often, but is constantly on the go and trying to help others.
The hair around my temples are gone from my relaxers days. I try not to honk at people while driving, people are so on the edge. I want a bob too,but must I be able to pull my hair back into bun. Love the new hair cut!😊
Oh my, thanks! I’ll have to share in another vlog about the Karen. It’s a lot…but we just ignore her, as best we can. We live in such an interesting world.
I haven't seen any of your videos for awhile and I feel like I have a lot to say! First, I love your haircut. I feel the same way about having someone else cut my hair. Second, your daughter is beautiful and it's fun to see how she's progressing. Third, thank you for sharing a reminder that many people are struggling with mental illness. I recently spoke to a nurse who works in the ICU. She told me there have absolutely been more people who come in for serious mental health issues. I also have family members that deal with various mental health issues. I'm glad you were in a position to recognize what was happening AND could remain safe and show kindness to the other person. Bless you for your example. ❤️
Hey Bridget! As always thanks for dropping in to say hello. I hope you and your family are all well. Yes, I’m sure the healthcare professionals are really getting bombarded with patients. It’s sad how people carry such shame when mental illness hits. The shame is usually so heavy that they deny that there is anything wrong. I feel like the brain is vulnerable to becoming ill just like any other organ in the body, and so many factors can play a role leading to a sick mind. However, it doesn’t mean the person is no good. They aren’t in control of their actions. It’s such a hard thing to observe. But prayer along with other things, I believe, can be a great source of help for coping and healing.
@@REEstylesIT I think having open conversations about mental health also goes a long way in destigmatizing those who suffer with their mental health. Prayer is a huge part of my life and I believe it can help to build bridges of compassion and understanding. My family is doing well and staying busy this summer. How is your family doing?
Oh my! Hearing this from you, a licensed stylist, says it all. I know you’re able to style your own hair to perfection, but I’m sure it’s nice to get a break if you can find someone who will listen to you. I thought about going to get a hair styling license. But, then I reminded myself how much I actually dislike doing my hair and my daughter’s hair. I just love the results and that I have managed to keep our hair healthy. 😁
I haven’t been behind the chair in years but keep my license active ‘ just in case’ also to get professional product at half the price . I have four daughters so I’m happy to do their hair myself because I also don’t trust a stylist for them either .
@@KiaMuha Yes Kia, that’s a great thing too…getting products for a discounted price and you save a ton of money doing your girl’s hair. I’ve certainly saved by doing both my daughter’s heads and with us all being natural I’m sure a stylist would’ve charged more.
Thank you for your video and your honesty. I love the Alanya Pant. I do think that it is a bit on the pricier side, but they are extremely great quality. Sometimes the crepe material does not look good with belts on. I did however purchase them last year and got them on sale.
I was starting to heat train and my hair would revert nicely. I got a silk press and cut at a new hair salon and I now have two sections of straight hair, I’m so mad, should I cut it?
That’s certainly a personal choice. Keep in mind your hair goals. I’m heat training because I don’t wear my curls and prefer my hair’s curls more relaxed and stretched out.
