I was 3 when this movie came out. Having the used DVD I bought from Hastings in the early 2000s i enjoy watching it from time to time. It actually inspired me to drive from West Texas to Seattle because of this Movie. I got ot see the Singles Apartment. And I remember just taking it all in and remembering parts of the movie. Looking at cliff,Janet ,steve and David's lil spaces from bottom. Happly, I remember driving away with the singles sound track on CD playing in the background and having this feeling of accomplishment in a weird way. Awesome take on you guy's view of the music and movie.
Hey guys I love you already I'm huge Jerry Cantrell supporter! Oh yes I want some blood too! This has floored me! LaneyBaby jerry topped himself somehow! I didn't know hat was even possible. Love,Eileen
You say “two of the big stars” Layne wasn’t a star. Famous, yes. Sort of. Kurt was a next level star. Thanks to the internet, especially RU-vid for the gift of Layne’s live vocals people are now discovering how amazing he is at connecting with us. Those of us who have trauma too. Layne was a gift from another world sent here for those suffering who need connection. I was 9 or 10 when facelift was released and in 1990 prior to MITB I was dragged to a show for an outdoor festival. I was captivated my this singer’s voice. I was 9 or 10 and my only music exposure was whatever my parents listened to on the radio and NKOTB, Bobby Brown, Will Smith… Hammer. I had the hair on my neck standing up but didn’t understand what it was. My neighbor also my age became an instant fan. I basically forgot about it the next day. As they released songs I liked them, but wasn’t a huge fan, so to speak. Then the side project Above was released and it resonated with me and I listened to it all the time. I was so very blessed to be at that show - the one at the Moore in April 1995. It wasn’t until adulthood when I started to breakdown childhood trauma when I understood why his voice comforted me. His voice gives me goosebumps to this day. I listen to them a lot. Watch a lot of live performances.
They weren’t friends anymore. Layne didn’t want anything to do with anyone from AIC except Mikey Starr as he was no longer AIC. Their relationship started to deteriorate post Mikey being booted. Jerry seemed to resent Layne for ruining everything Jerry worked for. Layne hated fame. Hated touring. Wanted to be private.
Even with Layne's condition and deteriorating health he still had amazing vocals live at the Moore for Mad Season in 95. Wake Up live gets me emotional every time. Often feels like Layne doesn't get enough credit in mainstream music. Great video thanks guys
I never understood why Tighter & Tighter didn’t get more love, it’s amazing and one of the best on this album. The lyrics are dark, but it’s a total vibe.
I love this. The grunge Bible. Two of my favs put together. I love Jesus, and I love Alice in Chains. I was just on Facebook, and I was checkin out some stories, and one run into The Grunge Bible, but I didn't realize it. I was doing something else at the same time. Multitasking I guess lol. So, this music comes on and I'm like, that sounds like some old school Alice in Chains. I looked up quick like, what is this? And here I am. Love this so far.
Enjoyed watching today guys, I don't listen to the Grunge Bible pod enough. Just bought a shirt to show appreciation! Chris I'm glad you we're spreading some Soundgarden love today and highlighting Kim and Chris Cornell's contributions and accomplishments on guitar, I don't think they get enough praise for it. I understand where y'all are coming from on the idea of "new grunge." That was a special time and you can't really recreate it, we can continue to show its influence and appreciate it but not strive for it. I've written some stuff that's heavily inspired by a lot of grunge acts but I'd never claim to be grunge myself. Sports talk is always great, I know southern hockey teams are kind of an oxymoron, but good hockey is still good hockey. I've been a Stars fan my whole life since I grew up around there so I hope they get to play for the cup. The Mavs look like they're on their way to the NBA Finals, its a great time to be a fan of Dallas sports! Thanks boys.
The band I'm in is a cover band we want to add originals but it takes a special gift to write hooks and sing along songs. Lots of pressure. Ignore the pressure guys because you brothers rock.
Talentd authentic and humble young guys. Amazing and brilliant musicians. Their music is top notch! Btw the interview's definitely not boring! Love these guys and their music.❤
