Love your video and wanted to let you know you pronounce her name zha-nee. And I am positive you can look at her in awe, she loves to be seen as a goddess (: good filming!
Thanks. Pronouncing words ain't my strong point for sure. Hope you had a great Riot Fest. I love her videos on youtube. Very creative. Thanks for checking out my video!
This was brilliant and unique. Esp at a time you could still get away with doing a gimmick like this. Record was cool & fun. Live shows were awesome. Tank is the best song on the reord. Saw them couple times here in northeast. Long live Stanley!
That would have stunk for me, Face to Face and Drug Church at the same time on different stages. Circle Jerks would have been great. Saw Descendents on their reunion for Everything Sucks in 1996. Was never a huge ALL fan, I just vibed with Descendents sound more then their ALL stuff.
I bet ya really had a great time out there! I do like Slayer a lot. As far as musicianship I will always be more of a Megadeth and Testament kind of guy. I'm actually gonna check out some of that Saxsquatch lol! Enjoyed this a lot brother!!! Keep it comin!!! CHEERS 🍻🤟👏
Hey, love the video! I'm going Sunday and will be at the NOFX stage all day, it's my first Riot Fest. Is the VIO upgrade worth it if I want to avoid long drink, food and bathroom lines?
Honestly today might be low attendance due to weather. I even on sat I waited no more than 3 minutes for bathroom or food, just look for the areas with the least people.
@@williamyates694 yup, picked up that Fastway debut earlier this month. I had to leave the store without going through everything as I knew I broke $200 even with 40% off.
wow.. my first show was 1981 Cheap Trick at Chicagofest. I would have loved to seen DeVo circa 1982. Santa used to be pretty cool in the 80's. Now Santa just thinks I was socks and drill bits.
@BriansFunHouse , first show was 'New Traditionalist' at the Forum in L.A., I was in fifth grade. Witnessed the 'Oh No! It's Devo ' tour, followed by the Palace show a few years later. Some random show at the Orange County fair, and finally, the HARDCORE DEVO show at Solanao Beach we're I stomped on some dudes foot when I was mimicking the Uncontrollable Urge 'Scissor dance'. One more before I go, I went opening night to the screening of Doctor Detroit just to hear the new D-E-V-O songs. I believe three are three on the soundtrack .
@MichaelPilmer wow, thanks a million for checking out my video. I have watched your videos and admire your devo- tion as we may say to this great band. Take care!
Pops are so ugly. At least one of the Devo ones has the visor. It's the only reason I bought it, otherwise I would've passed. The Super 7 figures are better,
@@yournamehere6002 it is crazy how many Pops were made and how big they were. I got a few musician ones and a few hockey ones....but yes, most are bland.
Amazing collection Brian !!! I seen them last year and even was able to get some stage worn outfits thanks to my buddy Pilmer !!! Great stuff you have !!!
@zeppearl I saw those cool suits. When I dj'd at Club Foot in Chicago in the middle 90s,they had a signed suit there as well. Loved your pearl jam videos. Eventually we gotta meet up.
Not for the pop outer-skin lovers. If you really dig into the lyrics, it brings a deep hopeful darkness to those few that understand.. What would you expect, Stanley was raised the haunted victorian mansion just a block from ERNEST Hemingway.
Album stands the test of time like few do. Vocals are amazing. So few people have heard it also. The longer that goes on for, the more legendady it will become.
I frequently go to record shows here in Atlanta and my other home Boston. Always looking for rarities and b-sides of unreleased material. I'm a big The Cult fan and they were the kings of unreleased material on 12 inch and b-sides. Elizabeth Berkely...yum! 🍻👏🤟
N) N.W.H (Can be seen in Fear of a Black Hat. Honorable mention: New Human Formantics, who can also be seen in Fear of a Black Hat) O) Orpheus (Many people claim that Orpheus is a myth. The movie Shredder Orpheus proves otherwise. Orpheus was such a great musician that even rocks would move closer to listen to him. Seems to me that Orpheus literally invented rock and roll. And he died in a very rock and roll way: being torn apart by sex-mad women. He was so committed to his muse-ic that his severed head kept right on singing as it floated down the Hebros river. The guy's an absolute legend.) P) Partridge Family (Tracy Partridge should be included in conversations about the best tambourine players of all time) Q) Quasimoto (Like a Mad Libs version of a rapper) R) Rock-afire Explosion (In a tragic case of life imitating art, all the members of this group perished in a fire that took place at a pizza joint) S) Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (A band that contains two bands: The Beatles and the Bee Gees. Hot take: the Bee Gees' Sgt. is better than The Beatles' version. Well, not really) T) Toxic Mutants (A group that existed in my tweenage drawings. Influenced by The Toxic Avenger and TMNT) U) Urkel (Should be included in conversations about the best accordion players of all time. Of course we all know who is #1. Weird . . . #1 would be Chicago's own Walter Jagiello, aka Li'l Wally. His fans, Jagiellos, were an interesting group. Accordion to some, they were a dangerous gang of clowns. Some even say Bozo was their ringleader.) V) Vicious Lips (Can be seen in the 1986 movie Vicious Lips) W) Wyld Stallyns (Not to be confused with Wyld Scallyns) X) X-Treem Filez (Who could forget the alt-rock duo of Skully and Moldering. Such great songs: "Trust No Onez," "The Truth Is Way Out There," "Ballad of a Cigarette Smoking Man," and "The Modern Prometheus Unbound") Y) Yodeler Mother (I used a band name generator for this choice. I picked the first name on the list. Could be a parody of a rap group or a heavy metal band) Z) Zack Attack!!!!!!!
A) Alvin and the Chipmunks (Their punk phase is brutal) B) Bennie and the Jets C) Cookie Monster (He's the artist on the list that I most identify with. Honorable mention: CB4, California Raisins, and, of course, Camel Lips) D) Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem E) Ellen Aim and the Attackers (Can be seen in the movie Streets of Fire) F) Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes (Can be seen in an obscure sci-fi flick) G) God (People have been debating this one for years. Some claim it's not a real artist) H) How Now Brown and the Moo Wave (Their song "Danger's No Stranger" is a banger) I) Iron Fist (Can be seen in the movie We Are the Best!) J) Josie and the Pussycats K) Kaptain Kool and the Kongs (GG Allin's favorite band) L) Limozeen (Glam metal giants) M) Mok (Can be seen in Rock & Rule, a movie that also has songs by Cheap Trick, Iggy Pop, Debbie Harry, and Earth, Wind & Fire. Honorable mention: M&M's, the candy, just because they're so dang good)
Any list that has, Dr Teeth has to be a solid list to really bite into. According to Google there a slightly over 60% that God is real. Google is 100% real
It was an exaggerated take on the grunge scene. We dont realize it now that it's written in history but those who witnessed the scene remember grunge and crust punks were physically disgusting people. Dirty clothing, smelled like garbage and cigarette smoke most of the time, normally didnt take care of themselves just nasty nasty stuff. In my city most punks and grunge/alt fans looked like homeless junkies. Not sure how it was in Chicago but in New York I remember totally thinking Stanley was some exaggerated caricature of alt bands since at any punk show you'd see at least 4 or 5 guys that were just as crusty and gross as him.
I guess that's one take on it. Our crusty punk scene was pretty much just going to hard-core shows. So Seattle type bands or pop punk bands, those crowds really wouldn't have any. Reminds me of a story..I was in a band and we picked up a very crusty punk hitchhiking after playing a show in San Fran. We drove him home and he ended up living in a very rich area outside of the city.....
@@BriansFunHouse Dude the SAME THING happened to me in 1997. I was a teen and would wander the streets broke and aimlessly, well one night I meet a group of "homeless" teens maybe a year or two older than me with thick southern accents who claimed to be from Georgia. Well they hang out with my group of street kid friends listening to music in music stores, eating at charities/churches, hanging out in the park - the typical broke teenage punk thing. Well at one point one of the Georgia girls gets sick of being on the street and demands to go home. We think "home" is us all helping her get a bus ticket back to Georgia. No, turns out they were all rich kids and had driven up to NYC in a BMW that was parked in a private parking lot and were staying at the Midtown Manhattan Hilton. There were larpers even back then lol
I was there Aug 4th. This was like an adult Halloween party for the LGBTQ community. There was no mention of the $15 cash only parking they charge or that everything inside was cash only. Weirdo fest

Oh man! You're my brother from another mother. I'm in Forest Park. I was just at OP Records this afternoon. Would go to Blackout and once saw the Old 97's play there on a Sunday afternoon around 94-95. Got that Jellyfish trifold you got in the back. Didn't know him, but met Cliff Johnson a number of times. Have 2 copies of On. Nice surprise to find this. Thanks Dillon.
@ediblehorse thanks so much for checking out the video. I mention a lot of chicago area things throughout my videos. Forest Park has Old School Records. But I wish that shop had more room. Off broadway was awesome. Cheers
Y&T was always one of my favorites man! Why they didn't get bigger boggles my mind. I was a bit punk back then but Y&T still hit with me. Eric Carr was far superior to Peter Criss. That era is underrated. Did you like The Cult? I'm curious about that lol. They walked a fine line of genres. Take care Brian. Thanks for the vid. 🍻🤟👏
@williamyates694 thanks for checking it out. Y&T for sure just never seem to over like Crue, Ratt...maybe they were too "plain" visually?.. Musically,a great rock band.
@@BriansFunHouse agreed. I like Y&T and The Cult and it just seems these bands were great, but fell flat somehow. They should have written the script. But plop lol. Why? I enjoy the videos brother. Thanks. 👏🤟🍻
