COSTCO has been selling halal Australian lamb for many years. Have you just discovered this? Here is something for you. There is Islamic Chamber of Commerce based in Sydney (Australia) which inspects and certifies all halal products shipped out of Australia. Also for your information SAM’s club too sells halal lamb in their warehouse.

We buy Halal Meats from our local Costco. However you have to make sure it is in its original packing and has not been cut up at the Local Costco. This is because it is cross contaminated with Non-Halal meats.
