If you have factory sync, you have "Sync 2". So order "2013-2014" model year and "Sync 2" option. We had upgraded my truck to Sync 3, but it was not a factory option on these trucks. Don't forget to use code "AUTOJOURNEY" to save $50!

Question- does the AC/Heat come on when the truck is started back to where it was last set to.. another unit i was looking at doesn't come in less you turn it back on and i dont want that because with electric start i want the air to come on without having to go out and turn the air on. Great video im gonna order today i think and rewatch your video 10 times probably 😂
The A/C will save it's last setting. So if you turn off the truck at say 60 degrees and fan speed to two (or whatever), it will still be set on that when you turn the truck back on.
I have 2018 Toyota Rav4 XLE LIMITED and installed an after market Pioneer Car Stereo. I did the same install however I didn't need to tap in the camera wire and the SWF wire. They have a aftermarket harness for the backup/SWF wiring which I purchased and it worked with no issues. My previous car was a 2015 Rav4 XLE LIMITED and the head unit worked flawless. Now, on my current 2018 RAV4 the setup was the same however the STEERING CONTROLS were not functioning. It gave me a message on the dashboard panel stating "VISIT YOUR DEALER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED". The steering buttons were inoperable. It would not operate my normal functions. I went and did a search on this. I was told my many the "CLOCK SPRING" went bad. I went ahead and ordered one. I finally I received the item and installed it. It did not work at all. I was ready to take the car to the dealer but I hesitated and reinstall the factory head unit back. The steering functions and maintenance waring light disappeared. The functions came back to normal. I totally agree that the OEM Radio is dull and lacks the newest functions in todays modern radios. The step by step install was GREAT! I was just wondering have you ran across regarding the factory radio systems on the higher end trim level on the RAV4.

Good review. Having a jump pack is always a good idea. Charge your phone is good, flashlight good. That air compressor is maybe ok in an emergency but probably really better suited to things like bicycle tires, pool floats, air mattresses and sport balls.

And if you would have got a Trailrax you could double the weight on the roof to 800lbs because of the back supports and its the best roof rack that you can buy for the Bronco.
While the Trailrax is a great option, it's about three times the price of the Hooke Road rack we installed, which is a significant consideration for budget-minded buyers. If we were using a rooftop tent, the Trailrax might be more appealing, but for our current needs, the Hooke Road offers excellent value without breaking the bank.
The only minor quirk I've noticed is that it doesn't automatically launch into the third-party launcher I demonstrated. However, this is easily resolved by simply pressing the home button. If you're planning to stick with the default launcher, this isn't a concern at all. Overall, still impressed and happy with it. It's even held up extremely well to the summer heat in the desert, no overheating issues.
And the reason for the fuse it to protect the wire I don't know why they did the fuse like that but please put another on next to the battery cause say for instance it grounds out on the firewall the amp will be protected but everything under the hood will burn Hope it helps. Hey little trick to posi-lock/taps cut the little ends flush where it sticks out then flare it in a circle make it look like a funnel then twist them together. Not trying to belittle you just telling you how I've done it been using them for years also I'm an audio junkie I have a wicked system in my truck
One thing your gonna wanna do is the rubber grommet u need to grab the grommet from the inside of the box and wiggle it in a circle while pushing it from the outside it has to go in to the groove in the grommet if it's to hard spit on it then it will slide in the groove I'm not being sexual I just realized how this sounds it could come loose over time otherwise looks good good video

Is this upgrade only for Non-B&O radios or does it not matter? My '23 Wildtrak has the B&O system and I am looking to upgrade the sound (speakers only)
You can definitely upgrade the speakers in the B&O system, many owners have reported significant improvements in sound quality after doing so. Even without adding an amplifier, replacing the stock speakers can enhance clarity and overall audio performance. The only thing I don't think will work is the FORScan adjustments.
@@AutoJourney GREAT JOB!!!!!! I will definitely follow this guide to upgrade to my non B&O speakers. I found an enclosure for an 8” Kicker square sub that will fit in the factory area. I also noticed that your Bronco is not the Lux package. I think it’s important to note that the modifications you do with for scan does not apply to the Lux package. I helped a friend of mine put a sound bar in his Bronco that had Lux package and when I looked at the ForScan graph on Bronco 6G forum it said that the modification excludes Lux package Broncos.

Yes, this installation replaces the factory Sync system, and the steering wheel buttons will continue to work. I've been thinking about getting the Subaru Forester Wilderness when they come out with the new version in a year or two. Now, I have just seen videos on the 2025 Bronco Sport Badlands Sasqautch. I think that vehicle might be perfect for me and my off roading and camping needs.

Why do you need wireless car play? Phone shouldn’t be in your hands while you drive, so it shouldn’t matter if it’s connected. <-- hit by someone texting while crossing the street.
It has nothing to do with having the phone in your hands. Wireless CarPlay will automatically connect to your phone the second you unlock the truck. Meaning when you sit down it's already on the screen, no need to plug it in. You can get in the truck and go. It's a luxury you don't realize you were missing until you have it.
Quick question I recently purchased my F150 FX4 and I would like to upgrade it to the sync 3, will you mind to let me know what brand you purchased? I’ve been looking on Amazon and they sell pretty much the same kit, but all they are different brands. It does really matters?
This was literally the cheapest one I could find on eBay 😂. It came straight from China so who knows its origin but it did it's job for over three years without any issues. The only reason I got rid of it was to upgrade to a Tesla style screen. I'd recommend just looking at reviews for the seller. Look out for red flags like bad customer service and you should be fine.

@@78oaso So far so good! If you use it in Android Auto or Apple Carplay mode it's honestly perfect. My biggest disappointment is the backup camera quality which I mentioned in the video.
Hi, Does the plug-and-play option you provided in your list avoid all the welding and manipulation of cables you showed in the video? On the other hand, have you installed any of those? I wonder if that option retains all the original functionality of the vehicle (steering controls and rear camera), especially the camera. The manufacturer has a video showing how to connect it to its camera, but I am unsure if that is optional.
We have not installed a plug and play solution. They are designed to be plugged directly into the factory connections, so no soldering. They should retain features such as cameras and steering wheel controls.

It doesn’t appear to have any specific anti-glare coating or matte finish. However, glare hasn’t been an issue. If you drive with the windows down, you might want to keep a microfiber cloth handy to wipe down the screen occasionally as it does get dusty. And don’t worry, it’s bright enough to view with sunglasses.
I can confirm that the built in mic works really well ... Also, I installed this on a 2011 f150 Raptor ... So when ordering get the No Sync option. Mine had OG SYNC, also I will say that there are a bit of connections that are no longer used. It was a bit confusing but it is pretty straight forward installation ... If you can read the instructions that are in black and white and they put letters over the black and white images then reference those letters that you can hardly see hehe Steering controls do work I will say that my unit is different from the one that they installed. I guess I could make an installation video for the 09-12 peeps

@@peppi7777 when you are on the website placing your order it asks you what you have in your truck. No sync, sync 2 or Sync 3. I had sync 1, so you choose the no sync option. Thisnunit, on the back has 09 - 12. So I'm assuming there are separate units depending on your year ... Hope this helps
@@AutoJourney All my steering wheel control button working well with only “key 1” wire connected. I think I just leave the “key 2” wire without any connection.
Could you please help me out , I followed step by step all of the instructions and everything works except the steering wheel controls. Please let me know if there is anything that can be done. The vehicle is a RAV4 LE 2018. Thank you.
The key things to double check are: 1. Make sure you've properly tapped into the correct wires - the white wire for SW1, the red wire for SW2, and the white/black wire for the ground (SWG). 2. Ensure the taps are secure and making good contact with the vehicle wiring. 3. Check that you've connected the corresponding wires from the stereo harness to the CORRECT tapped vehicle wires using the spade connectors. If you've verified all those connections are correct, the next step would be to double check the headunit settings to make sure it's properly recognizing the steering wheel control inputs. You may need to go through the programming process for the steering wheel controls.
