c6f8305c599b5153 Hi I'm Al Cooper, guitar player from the UK. I started because I kept getting screwed over by a bad 'guitar tech' in a shop so I decided to learn to fix my own gear. I repair and mod guitars and other gear for myself and for friends, and review the gear I buy myself or borrow.
Guitar acquisition for Busine$$ reasons is not an Artistic musical decision. The true value of a guitar to a musician really is in its usefulness if not its nostalgic emotional worth. Resale value should be the last thing on my mind when I'm considering buying an instrument but versatility, purpose and utility SHOULD be above all even if it means taking a total loss if it doesn't work out as expected.
Put a strap to the head stock stays well leveled.... For 65 pound.... Bridge... Not enough change... I've got the deluxe two hb... I got this one : Amazon Wilkinson Adjustable Pigtail Bridge, 52mm String Spacing, Gold, Compatible with USA Les Paul/Epiphone Les Paul Junior Style Guitar 27.50£
Do you play your guitar often w/o an amp? I guess if you do, then this is great. You could get an acoustic if you don't want to hook up to an amp and want more presence. Out if curiosity, are you limited when you pull or dive with your trem, where the block hits inside the cavity and limits the original amount of movement? (Full dive & full pull).
yes i do play unplugged quite a bit. it doesn't seem to be limited in movement- that i can tell! however the guitar rings louder and has a lot more note definition; most welcome changes
It's OK to upgrade 60 dollar guitar into5000 doller or that's a dum movie...I want spend 100 dollars than tha.the is 60 doller guitar than you upgraded this guitar not mote than 1000 doller guitar..instead of waisting your money on this cheap guitar ..better you buy a new expansive or decent guitar..
Sounds great dude the mod seems to really make the high octave stand out, can’t wait to try this!!! Hope you’re still making vids, also the modification of the exterior using pens… beautiful! Have done this myself and then 20 years later thought omg what have I done! lol
I recently bought an 80's Indian Encore, from the luthier Sam Deeks (RU-vid) - same decal as yours, on headstock. It is a crackin' guitar, and the sound / tones are excellent, due to the Evo Gold frets on the fretboard. It's a keeper, for sure
@@BadMotivator66 if that were true than a pickup would never amplify a voice. Both pickups and (most) microphones both use electromagnetic induction and amplify acoustic sound in similar ways.
hi! yes it seems to- i've not had any issues with the amp and as in the video it get's far less hot that it did before the shield. it's crude but definitely seems to work!
Did you try popping the back off and tightening the gear screw to remove play from the shaft? Also once the shaft goes through the bushing, did you still have play?
My relatives own a farm and one day I set up my amp out in a paddock that was surrounded by trees dialed this pedal in and was getting eco feedback from the surrounding trees it sounded pretty fucking mean
I have one and I think it’s killer I let my amp do most of the work and keep the controls low on the pedal through the clean channel on the amp solid state that pedal has so much juice
Added a set to my Squier Tele. Soundwise didn't notice much of a difference to be honest BUT where it does shine is a lot less string breakage! Also added a Graphtech string tree on the headstock and dumped the crappy metal one. The string tuning is much more consistent and I get months out of all 6 without losing any tone!
Man I always loved the Bare Knuckle Juggernauts he used. These sound great as well. Pickup changing is always hit or miss, especially if you have to pay 4-500 for them...
@@BadMotivator66 Yeah exactly. I swapped a lot of pickups, and sometimes it takes multiple tries to find what you are searching for so if you like them already, I would problay leave them in 😄
Vox sound to me is a glassy sound a classic sound I think of Rory Gallagher when I think a Vox one of my favourite players. Sounds good. Good video the tone of the guitar good too those pick ups sound great.
@@BadMotivator66 Brian May seen Rory Gallagher live in concert he was blown away how amazing he was and sounded with just one vox amp AC30 and a treble boaster how he got his sound he had a word with him told him what he used and went out next day back in very early 70s brought the AC30 and a treble boaster and never look back. Rory was an inspiration for most guitar players including Hendrix was asked in 1969 I think it was what it like to be best guitar player ever he said I don’t know 🤷♂️ you better ask Rory Gallagher.
Tune-o-matic roller bridge is pretty decent for 20 bucks. Great value for the money,. There are only so many ways to make a roller bridge and a lot of them suck because they are a pain in the ass to intonate, Especially if those allen screws are right under the strings.
@@BadMotivator66 Thanks for the reply. :) I DM'd you on the instagram, I found this exact same model on the ads and I'm thinking of buying it, but I would really appreciate your advice.
