Hi there and welcome to project380 this is my channel to show you my adventure into building and tuning my Mazda mx5 on this journey i will be learning myself how to build this car and engine from a dream into reality
Is it possible to list all the tools you used for this? I want to get everything from shop that I need all at the same time since I have to skate there because the cars broken and I don’t want to have to skate multiple times. Thanks !
The 1st hose you replaced.... I thought my hose was also split, but it turns out the nipple the hose clamps onto has perished. Can this pipe/nipple be replaced?
Amazing work. Truly motivating content for my future build. Shows that nothing is impossible with dedication. Thanks for making the content, under appreciated. Keep it coming!
That coolant pipe looks fantastic! I've been thinking about something like this for weeks and you've definitely done better than anything I had in my head before
Great video, in fact all your content is thankfully! Your numberplate light bracket video saved the day for us novices! Quick question - where can we get the "special tool" @ 3.13? the socket drive clamp thingy?
@@Project380 but, but, think of all the possibilities 🤣 I don't need one, and still plan on getting one once I finish rebuilding my car. And I'm sooo much over budget, I don't want to think about it 😂
I HATE electrical wiring! But it's a necessary evil. I like what you've done and my hat's off to you for getting it done. As far as a suggestion for a third gauge...I would suggest an oil pressure gauge, but since the engine is already in the chassis, getting to and wiring a sending unit would be difficult (I'm paranoid about oil condition, so I have outfitted my car with a Bosch oil pressure/temperature sending unit and gauges). Other than that, great job!
Same, but go for a mecanical oil pressure. Got bosh unit for the ECU with automatic safety and visualisation on my dashboard. And mecanical to double check.
@@1000milleun - question; Where did you put that mechanical gauge? I've heard that putting a mechanical pressure gauge inside the cockpit is a no-no, for safety reasons (i.e. if a line fails, you'll have hot oil under pressure spraying around inside). Just curios.
God i hate wiring.... Iv got soo much to do to fix the spageti in my engien bay id rather argue with my crusty rear arms 😂😂😂 On my mk1 though i went with the jass toumbstone extension so i could keep my radio and not loose any of the vents ect
I bought an mx5 the other day and its got the exact same aftermarket cold air induction thingy, think its typhoon systems k&n, any chance you could tell me if the filter is meant to be black or if i need to re oil it? cause mine looks exaclty like yours!
@@Project380 thanks so much, i havve the red pipe with black filter, or well, it's black now, but i dont know if that's cause all the red oil has worn off, i found a universal k and n filter that looks like it will go on the end, it's red - i may just wash my current 1 with water until then though? thoughts?
Hey Ive been watching at your video , its well explained and in a good short time , but ive not fully understand how you put the LED Halo Light with the blinkers , look like it need a bit of electrical work and im very bad with it , someone have a tip for that ? Thank you !
@@Project380 I used a mirror and it made a night and day difference. I’ve been trying for 2 years not to boost my Miata. It’s a loosing battle. This kit is too cheap, to not give it a go and others are too expensive to justify for me (my wife😔).
😂 Thanks. I’m glad I watched the video before installing the intake. Mine is a 1.6 to 1.8 swap and trying to figure the right tps since the 1.6 one doesn’t fit the skunk2 throttle body and the 1.8 tps plug is different than the 1.6 harness. Should I just rewire the plug to fit the 1.8 TPS? Thanks in advance.
IMHO run a blow-off valve, your turbo will thank you for that. You may not get those cool compressor flutter noises, but you'll we well-compensated by the "woosh" of the BOV (that is, if you vent to air). Love the progress you're making!
I love your videos and been following pretty closely to the point where mine looks similar but hopefully I’ll be done in roughly the same timeframe as yours
I can't imagine a rollbar doing squat if it isn't attached to the frame itself and not just bolted to the chassis. whats that like 16 gage steel in a floor pan?
Id say a blowoff valve would look and sound good and would be better for the turbo. Also stupid question, but you rebuilt the engine ages ago. Does it matter if the assembly lube sits in there for ages? Will it start just the same as if you rebuilt it a few weeks ago?
2:30 What is this bracket called? The previous owner removed it, and put in a shoddy CAI, and now I’m in the process of fitting a better one, but would like to find a replacement bracket to properly fix it, as you have.
@@Project380 2:30 you said you’ll attach the (new) mounting bracket, to the old bracket that held the (original?) cold air intake system in. The one next to the power steering reservoir.
