It's a little bit disconcerting to me when I read and meditate upon passages in the OT and come up with a totally different slant than my study bible notes. It's not that I distrust my own reading comprehension skills. Rather, I distrust the notes because every one of my study bibles takes a different perspective; and, I don't want to be deceived. For example: I'm fascinated by the book of Genesis: the family dynamics, the repetition of stories and travels, and even the genealogies. I find myself agreeing with Jacob concerning the Dinah incident. I empathize with the women, and notice that they encounter God almost as much as the men. El Roi sees them too. I understand that God always undermines primogeniture, thereby negating the complementarian view that man has headship because Adam was created first. Etc.... My study bibles do not agree.
You people are totally crazy. I have no idea how you could be so SMALL as to dicker over the use of the term "old testament". What in hell is wrong with you? You live in a world of language Nazis who are trying to jerk you around by complaining about every little thing their mental minds can make up. These are febrile people who possess no inherent morals, so they invent new morals around the NORMAL use of language, and then they can look down on those who do not adhere to their newly invented usages and meanings of words. You are wasting your lives.
I always put quote marks around “Old” and “New”Testaments. I haven’t read this book yet. I hope it addresses the way Christians and Jews interpret our. Bibles in general before we get. to specific passages.
Can I use incense ash? What prayer do you say when you are putting it on the person? If anyone knows how to suggestions please. No palms.. I have anointing oil I just trying to figure out what to use to make the ash. Thank you!
You're so welcome! Alternatively to Palms, the ash can be made from the dried leaves of other native plants to your area. The prayer we use is: “Remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return” You are blessed & you are marked & You are not alone.”

Rest in Peace Father John Price. You were a wonderful shepherd to Christ’s flock, and I am thankful for our many conversations in my office. I always looked forward to talking with you, hearing your stories and often a new joke. You literally enriched thousands of lives and saved so many souls. The stars in heaven shine more brightly.
Hi! Thanks for posting this! I don't know where my old palms are, so I might wipe the bathroom sink and burn down matches there and maybe some paper (so I don't burn the house down), and then proceed with your instructions. God bless you much! My church will have an online service this evening.
We attended our first Roy Jones Requiem Eucharist in 1997. Todays offering was just as exquisite as our first experience, and we are very grateful to be able to worship with you today virtually.
