✍Hello... I hope that the hateful People who complained loud enough to get the park closed is happy !! I know there were probably other reasons but I remember reading the stories that were printed in the Beacon Journal newspaper about the complaints from the neighbors of Geauga Lake Park and all the traffic etc. but people who bought homes in that area should have realized what they'd be dealing with when they bought in that area. I was raised in the 40-50s and the BF Goodrich held their company picnics there and when I married my husband and I and our daughters would go there instead of Cedar Point (too far and too expensive). Now there's nothing for families to go for summer fun that's affordable etc🏖 🎠🎡🎢 and now those neighbors have a "beautiful abandoned, empty run down park" to look at !! We need places for families to take their children for some summer fun. We all can't afford trips to "Disneyland or Disneyworld, Epcot, etc at any age. I'd love to have been able to take my kids there but even now past retirement age I still couldn't afford a trip there. Its a shame someone out of all those big investors can't see how much money they'd make if they catered to families and family entertainment. Bye from NE Ohio🌹
For a place to have been abandoned for 30 years, it is in great condition. I n Charlotte they would have raised it years ago. They tear down every thing old and beautiful in Charlotte. It Sucks out loud.
With all of the money invested, I hope they make it available, (and reasonably priced), for groups and other convention types of events. Such a magical place!! Great video John!! You’ve done it justice!! ❤
Geauga Lake was the absolute best place! Many great memories! I worked there the last day they were open and the same day the wooden roller coaster (Wolf Bobs) that derailed and 4 people got hurt.
This is the mall I tend to frequent more than any other mall. And even though it’s had its struggles, including the loss of sears, and it’s regal Cinema, this mall still manages to push through and do really well! The new theater is incredibly nice, and this mall still has a great variety of stores inside of it! It’s always nice to see this mall thriving! It’s such a fun mall to hang out at!
Very nicely done video. I have so many memories of spending time at that mall from its opening through the early 90s. The decor was even more '80s then -- wooden benches, sunken seating areas, fountains, lots of plants and sculptures. Any time I visit Rural King, which is where Bon Ton had been (which I thought was a really fancy store in those days), I can still see its pinky beige carpet and I think, "This is where the Jessica McClintock gowns were, this was where the Clinique counter was," etc. Times change. I use to go there every Summer with my dad and brother. Great memories. 🙂 What a shame it doesn't exist anymore. I would have loved to take my kids there for some great memories of their own.
I actually just got back home from exploring this hospital. It was awesome but it sucks what people have done to it. I will definitely be going back during the day and to explore rooms I Haven't yet.
