Can you help: i have B.Ed degree and a masters in the subject i teach. Do i still need a TEFL certificate? And , in english i got C1 ( c2 in reading, b2 in listening, average is c1, 65 points) . Is that enough?
Wow ang galing galing mo mag english mam,,im wishing to apply as a teacher in vietnam. But im not yet board passer and i dont have yet experience.but im education graduate mam.pede po ba ako jan mam trixie, maraming thanmk you
Let's make sure right off the bet that if anyone here watching is near retirement age in Vietnam (55 for women, 60 for men), you as a foreigner will not even get your foot in the door in terms of getting considered by the majority of agencies. They don't want the hassle of trying to process a work visa on your behalf which will most likely be rejected by the gov't, so they are looking for younger people. Retired teachers with a TON of experience even with Master's and other EFL certificates are at a severe disadvantage compared to younger folks with less experience and fewer qualifications. This is the sad reality of almost all EFL teaching positions in East and Southeast Asia.
Greetings, I was wondering if I have to legalize my documents ( degree, printed PDF of my TEFL, & FBI CBC) in my home country the US or can it be done in Vietnam? Thanks in advance.
It can be done in either. So basically the country of issue for the degree would be the best choice to get it authenticated there. Eg: Get it authenticated at US Ministry then send it to VN embassy in US for legalisation. Hope that helps
Hello teacher. What if I get hired.
Hello, I'm an english teacher from morocco, i've got a job offer from vietnam in dah minh and the offer includes: 1200USD, support of 65USD for accomodation, 100 Hour of teaching. i've never taught abroad before and i'm not sure if that's a good place to live and save money. Could you please advice me about that offer, is it good or should be skipped.
Hi! The place doesn't ring a bell. A lot of reputable schools and language centers offer more than that(1500-2000usd in HCMC ). I think you should check other schools first. I advise, join English Teaching groups on Facebook to know more. facebook.com/groups/277619962672983
Hey Yassir, Im from Morocco too and I just got a job offer in Vietnam with the same salary Are u still considering the offer? Or are u looking for sth better?
I am from the U.S., I have been teaching online for 3.5 years, due to covid I prefer to stay teaching online only (I think most people will agree). If you have any students that want to learn with a foreigner and you are willing to refer them over to me it would be greatly appreciated. I am currently in Hanoi.
Hello teacher. Thank you for sharing your experience. Ask ko lang po, nabanggit sa video na 15usd x 80 hours. Meaning Po non 4 hours per day ang pagtuturo or the remaining 4 hours ay pang paper works. Kasi kung 4 hours lang per day madali lang ang work teaching sa Vietnam. Maraming salamat Ma'am.
Yes po. Per hour kse mostly ang bayad po dto. minsan 3hrs ka lang work per day. depends po sa mapasukan na company kung may paper work,, kung sa public school dto, wla po paper work. tturo ka lang. yung 15usd parang pnaka minimum na tinatanggap ng mga pinoy dto but it varies po depende sa company/school. meron mga school na offer is 21-25usd per hour. Tama po kayo. for me, mas mdali teaching dto sa vietnam kesa satin.
Wow. I love you teacher. Thank you po. I am ESL teacher kasi sa isang online. Nakakapagod! Kaya want ko tuloy abroad. Pati workload dito hindi ko maimagine sa dami. Want ko na tuloy lumipad diyan. Hehehe
Hello po.. d ko po sure kung mgkano ba dpat. depende po kasi kung saang part kyo ng vn ppunta.. dto sa hcmc, meron apt na mura around 5-6k per month, 10k food, transpo, at iba pa din processing ng papers, etc.. i suggest, try nyo na po maghanap muna ng work dto sa vn and ask the company to sponsor all docs before flying to vn.
