Hi my names Tanner and I’ve been DJing for a few years now. I also use my lights for one of my friends bands. My first gig was a birthday party 2 years ago. I got into the DJ industry after my uncle and dad were both DJ’s and gave me some old equipment. I very quickly wore it out and bought myself an entire new setup over the corse of the past few years.
Although your video is 3 years old...I found it very helpful and explained well! Especially for a beginner.....can you tell my the name brand and price for the speakers you used? Also the sub and the mixer please?
I have 2 unit EV ZLX-15P for FOH and 1 unit ELX200-18SP for subwoofer. It is very loud but didnt hurt ears at all. Sound so good got thumb up after event. For the ZLX15P, i use 80HZ low cut. For the subwoofer, i use 100HZ low pass filter but i eq 90HZ and 80HZ lower because the frequency between 80HZ to 100HZ is annoying to the ear if its not controlled.
My suggestion would be to make sure you power everything down before you start unplugging cables and repeating the process when powering up. Even the smallest power surge will not be good. Just from experience. Good content and a great job. 🙌
Im using a numark DJ controller, RCA to 1/4 inch wires to both of my Behringers speakers. I just bought a Harbinger 12inch sub. Do I really need a mixer to use the sub? How would you connect my new subwoofer? My speakers have XLR & 1/4 inch inputs along with XLR OUTPUTS. Can I just use my XLR OUTPUTS on my speakers down to my XLR Inputs on my new Sub?
Love the video i was a karaoke dj for 3 years im trying to go into dj'in events i just ordered the flex 6 i feel so blesses you did this video , i only ask when you get time if you can do a video on the functions while running the flex 6 give a little step by step how you work the controller
You need to make sure that you are standing behind the speakers when using the mic. If you have a guest using your mic, make sure they are not near a speaker. Also make sure that you hold the mic close to your mouth.
So I have limited knowledge here, but on my old powered mixer I came out of main and in to my 31 band eq then went out of it back into usually just one power amp, but I don’t see that option on the 1470? Any advice or knowledge would be appreciated
If you have rca outs on the back, you can hook them into anything non-professional (aka bigger size shows with quad subs/quad b52s or more) I have a power amp sony xplod running btl on my 15 inch sub, and run the phone line out to that, so I have seperate control of sub just by hitting cues on top of ddj800 fader sliders. Then I run the rca mains to my smaller booth speaker setup on a basic sound system I use for my gaming on pc. Works great. Def all you need. YOu can either hook mic into back of ddj in 1 of the slots or you can use a external mic that runs usb (I use audio technica at2020) it was only 65 dollars pre-used and has worked amazing.
I just bought this mixer. I’m running the mains stereo with 1 Rockville 15” sub & a Carvin PM 15 on each side for 4 OHMs per side. I’m using 4 12” wedges for monitors. This is where I have questions. I’m using a mono GK400 bass head for power & daisy chaining the speakers. I’m running out of the balanced 1/4 out into the bass amp. Is this the best way to run them? I really want to run in ears. How would you run them? Thx!
